Yep, bye-bye KC logo... this is going to make changing my array so much easier as well. Shouldn’t need the silicone or butyl. The rubber seals should work and you can always use pool lube (basically Vaseline) to keep the rubber pliable and sealing. Might make a small MESO stencil or screen logo.

Better yet ..... I have sent a note to him recommending he offer laser engraved lenses with his custom logo......I would buy a set

 

5 days, a car wash, and rain storms. No leaks or cracks. The solid plexiglass is much stronger than the “plastic” KC lenses.
Also, my son is making me some Me-So Customs vinyl decals small enough to fit in the center of each light. I may just put one decal on the center light or one on each. I’ll post up when I get them.

 

My lens order came in in two business days....arrived today.

Finally had time to install my brothers third brake light. Super easy install. Plug N Play!

People say they want this until they realize the mount is actually the affordable part. It's the individual lights that add up.

 

Until the hex lights come out. Affordable lights but there are (9) to fill out

 

Just installed this today! Love the look. I am slightly worried about leaking though. I put some black silicone around the inside of the provided gasket as a back up but I don’t feel great about the seal around the top of this. Has anyone installed with just the provided gasket and experienced any leaking at all?

 

I was worried about the same thing as the fit isn’t perfectly flush, even with flexing the housing slightly with the bolts (and elongating the roof holes so the bolts didn’t bind). But it’s held up perfectly, I also added a bit of silicone to the gasket. I’m in TX so it gets dam hot and rain is hard but over quickly. Got 3” in 45 mins the other day, it’s not leaking one bit.

I have used nothing but the gasket and have had no issues. Much better performance than factory. I too expanded the body slots to prevent bowing. I also glued the gasket ends together, so they can’t separate/gap. I only tightened the assembly until I got even compression all around.

 

Hmmm maybe I’ll pull this off and clean it up so I can expand the slots too. Now that I’ve been in there already the process will be easier.

 

Just an Update
Plexiglass lenses still look great, no cracks, no leaks, multiple car washes, multiple rain storms.

 

What happened to the KC lenses, did the sun kill them?
Did KC offer to replace them?

I wonder if the plastic screws will last.

 

In my case. I think my automatic car wash cracked them. KC replaced the entire light assembly for all 5x lights under warranty.

 

I had bought mine from a forum member. KC replaced them once. Then they cracked again. I think it’s from the auto car washes also.
Since I put on the plexiglass, no problems. It’s stronger, and has no hole in the center.
I bought 100 plastic screws, so I have extras. But none have come out yet.

 

I didn’t realize that he made bed lights, definitely going to check those out.
