Any leads for someone to do this close to the Monterey County?

I can go back to So Cal and get it done but that'd be a bit much for such a mod :burp:

How do you want it relocated? Just to fit a longer 10” shock? Moved to the outside of the frame?

    I am aiming for a 10" shock.

I'm ok with either direction; outboard will require spacers and a kit offered by only 1-2 companies that I don't mind getting.

Under the bed just requires a cross member welded in, and shock tabs on the axle. This method will be easier I would assume for anyone that welds, plus cheaper.

I don't weld, and if I did I wouldn't be able to anyway as my home's wiring isn't up to snuff for the current required.

I think I had messaged him, I'll check my other phone. We weren't sure which way to go and he was unfamiliar with a 1st gen?

I could be confusing him with someone else altogether.

Figured I'd upgrade something on my truck since 4x4 parts aren't as readily available nearby.

I'll call him up tomorrow and get his opinion on what'd be easier to do.

I just want a bit more travel, and my off road needs exclude rock crawling, etc. which means I don't need a specific application.

I know Milo has done shocks towers in a first gen. When I dropped of my truck, a first gen was getting the bed pulled off to replace the broken rear shock towers.

edit: he’s also done my shock relocation on my 2nd gen.

I would really go to someone that knows how to do it, it’s not really just welding this bar here and a couple mounts.

well I guess it kind of is

I wouldn't mind going through the bed myself, but since I don't weld, I'm looking for the easiest option.

But with the camper shell idea, going through the bed is less appealing.

There's been a change of plans lol

Since posting this, I've committed to getting my co workers 4Runner so I'm not doing a 4x4 swap on my Tacoma anymore; no more mods for the Taco

    I'll check it out

Good to see you again Mo!

We should go wheeling together again sometime

Rad. I'll take a day off and meet you at hollister mid week (your days off) to christen your new 4x4 with you.

Really can't wait to get my hands on it already; extra parts I didn't install on the Tacoma are going onto the 4R (King 2.5 and Icon UCA)
