As far as gas goes, I run 87 octane in my truck and our Camry but I stick with Chevron and Shell. They have additives that I believe are worth the extra $. I purchased our 98 V6 Camry with 88K in 2004 and it now has 349K and runs great.

I have two first gen tacoma's one with 500K and one with 457K as of this morning, both are still running strong on the original engines. neither has ever had anything but 87 octane fuel. Pinging which is actual detonation and it is caused by a fuel air ratio being held at pressure for to long so it detonates on its on(this is how a diesel works), or there is a hot spot in the cylinder causing the detonation. High octane fuel is required in high compression engines to help reduce detonation, because the higher the octane the longer it will stay at pressure without detonating. Our engines are not high compression so high octane is not needed. I could go on and on about the design, cause and effect of an internal combustion engine but would probably bore the hell out of everyone but myself.

And yes i am an engineer and when the GF ask how something works i ask her if she "really wants to know" this is her indication that i am about to go into a long winded answer

I love my ARE, but I knew what I was getting into because this wasn't my first truck with a camper. It is going to reduce your rear vision and reduce the hauling aspect of your truck by quite a bit. You also don't want to plan on taking it off and on a lot. They're extremely heavy and take up a lot of space when stored.

I'm 6'2" and I sleep in my 5.5 bed all the time. We added a bed rug, an air mattress that fits the bed, and a king camp awning( https://www.amazon.com/Kingcamp®-Co...&keywords=truck+awning&qid=1592481095&sr=8-24 ). If it starts to storm, I can close up the tailgate and hatch but I have to curl up a little.

I think Toyota trucks will run on moonshine and be ok. Lol. I have one with 248,000, one with 280, 000 and one with 350, 000, all run great on 87 octane.

Shouldn't have told you I am color blind... I'm afraid to ask what color spray paint was used.

My wife had a Malibu that she drove to HSV every day, fuel pump went out which required removing the gas tank. The tank had so much build up in it. A mechanic told me it's from running "cheap gas". She would use Wal-Mart gas. We've been running Chevron and Shell ever since.

So just wanted to rant a little bit about how bad rock solid toys customer service is.

So i order my ADD switch and shifter boots 3 weeks ago. I was told i would be sent a track number and nothing was sent. I waited 10 days and no word. I emailed them again and asked what was the deal with my order and they said that they were waiting on the shift boots to come in and they would be sent out that day. I waited another 8 days and then asked them for track yet again on Monday. Of course i got no response. I called them yesterday and left a voicemail. No phone call back. So far ive paid $300 bucks and dont know what the hell is going on with my order or if i even bought anything cause it dosent seem like they are even sending it.... If it dosent show up this week or i get a response im going to open a dispute. Im going to call them again today when they open at 9pst

I know a couple of months ago, there were huge supplier delivery issues with some companies. Not sure that would still be an issue now, but maybe they keep getting bad info from whoever makes their stuff? I'm not familiar with that company at all though.

DHL stuff we bring from Australia usually takes 5 business days. It's been averaging 20-22 business days since March, and at $5 per LB shipping price, it's f'd to have to wait that long, and keep giving customers bad ETA's since the ETA's are nothing like normal.
