    Once I settle on tuning i need to see if I get any. I just got a whopping 6.9mpg on my tank of gas (S/C, cam gear, intake and bigger injectors) but lots of lead foot testing things out.

    Once again. My results are the conglomeration of cam gears, cleaning of my throttle body and the entire intake tract and lower manifold up to the valves (lots of gunk in there) and adding a manifold spacer. I also didn’t drive like a maniac. And I was only getting 13-14mpg prior, worse in the winter. Wouldn’t want anyone to install just the gears and be disappointed they don’t net as much fuel economy

    My Crank TDC and top timing marks never played perfect. After talking with Kel we agreed to get the top lined up. The bottom was close but there is only one way to put the cam gears on. I was worried but its working great and timing is spot on. In case anyone comes to it. If you crank it over a handful of times 10 or so you will get al the pre-exising painted marks to line up. I like this instead of marking them (also did not have any white out to use)

    Also if your having trouble lining it up, removing the fan and shroud made it easier to turn and line up with a long ratchet/breaker if your doing it solo (which I did).

    I would suggest removing the plugs since you will not be fighting combustion. it moves freely without it.

    If you do not have the offset wrench, give it a good tighten. After time the engine will tighten it further. Its tighter than its needs to be from the factory.

    Also tons of recommendations but you can also get the offset 17mm direct from Snap-On for $30 if anyone prefers. I had actually ordered it before and naturally arrived after I had already bolted it back up. No issues with it so far.

    It went in with a ton of other stuff so I do not have an honest review of just the cam gears. I do see higher power at higher RPM/Speeds 60-90 as noted by another person. With the cam gears I also added the Maggie S/C, FIC 650cc injectors, NST pulleys, TRD FJ/T4R intake, new Iridium plugs for the S/C, cleaning TB, new coolant, CSF radiator and a 2.8 pulley.

    Totally, I did not install them expecting any mpg gain. I am getting 10-12mpg before so once I settle on my tuning at least getting the same. Any improvement would be great. Nice to se it.
