psa- searched my ass off, cant find the PN.

the one for the double cab, you know...the one that you have to damn near pull the entire interior out for...that one.

mine sprung a leak, right side mount cracked off. (headliner got wet, surprise! ha) used black OSI and glued it back on/sealed. (actually cant tell it was broke)

so i want to order one so when i feel frisky, i can properly replace it.

Was the crack from an incident or just defective part/installation torque that failed over time ?

That really sucks. Very bad design on Toyota's part.
Like putting a sunroof on a roof with just a gasket and no flashing.
A drip edge/lip should have been designed into the cab exterior surface.
They will all fail imo, just a matter of time.
Guess Toyota figured that most would fail after the warranty time and decided not to do squat.

Did 2nds have this issue ?

The 2nd gens and 3rd gen Access Cabs use a different third brake light. It is serviceable from outside without removing the headliner. I replaced mine with a strobing LED setup. See my signature for more information if interested.

2016 Tacoma part # 81570-04051. Submitting receipt to toyota online for reimbursement under recall. Right side of light was cracked and had water stains on headliner. Used portable steam cleaner on headliner. Partially lowered back of headliner enough to blindly fit socket in to remove 2 10mm bolts. If I take a turn fast I can hear that 10mm socket rolling around back there.
