So I ordered the Class 3 hitch. After feeling its bulk, I returned it. There is no way I"m towing more than 2k #s with the 4 banger. Does anyone make a class 1 hitch? I generally tow a 300# sailboat on a 150# trailer or worst case two race bikes on that trailer - less than 1k.

About to cut up an old Taurus hitch to modify to mount to bumper. I would weld a wider plate to mount the receive below the bumper in the holes 8" appart.

Yeah pop the center cap on the bumper and throw a ball in it.

I did that but its way too high so I need to modify a 4" drop so it can be attached to the bumper. Or get a bumper mount 1.25" receiver. They typically have to be modded to install.

You can get the receiver hitch like the one at etrailer.com at harbor freight tools for like $30 , you'll need 2 5/8-11 x 2-3/4" or 3" nuts and lock washers I had to cut 2" off each side with a grinder and cutoff wheel but it fits

Are you not looking for a lighter option than a frame mounted receiver? If so, the style I linked should work. Seemed like you didn't know what you were looking for and now you have something to work with.

Sticky Taco - I've been looking @ these but they are class 3. If I could find that in a class 1, I'd be all over it. I think I may be cutting up an old Taurus class 1 tow bar so I can mount the receiver below the bumper and then the class 1 4" drop down from there...
