cut out the carbon fiber and offer plain injection molded plastic for $500 less and it would sell like crazy.

Exactly, with the price point of Dobinsons and their pretty good aesthetic, they should price it more competively. Someone will still buy it but they could sell so many more at $350-450

love the carbon.. hate how it extends a foot long along the outside fender. ARB's does the same thing. If it dropped straight down into the fender would look much better IMO.

Honestly it looks like its a loose piece of trim. Its too low profile to recognize it as a snorkel, but the bottom is too big to be part of the truck.

Make the fender part slimmer then it would be much better.

Someone just needs to make a flat mount that connects to the fender flush that has a intake grill on it. Then make a snorkel that bolts to that and magnet mounts to the A pillar. That way if you want a snorkel, 4 bolts and its on and working, if you dont want it, you have a intake on the side of the fender.

Like jeeps, you take off the 4 screws on the top, plug in the snorkel, and screw it down.

    This.

And make it not look like a brick attached to the fender. Make it a little more aerodynamic looking.

You’ll notice most snorkels use a ‘ram air’ style intake, facing the air stream. That snorkels side air intake will be battling a low pressure zone for the side intake draw, meaning less air will be drawn in due to the low pressure zone equating to less performance than one that faced the oncoming air stream creating a high pressure zone. Cant say exactly how much, but the power losses will be greater at higher speed.

Edit: they’d actually get better performance by putting the intake on the windshield side to benefit from the windshields high pressure zone, but still not as good as one facing the air stream.

So I have thought about this a lot.
During my testing I haven’t noticed any performance loss. I thought Venturi would come into effect for sure.
If only I could find a wind tunnel to use for a few hours
Also.. for what it’s worth, Toyota has stated themselves if you are in heavy rain and or snow you can turn their snorkel head(OEM TRD) backwards.
