Very interested! What is required on the truck owners end? Do I have to purchase anything prior to allow for the tune?

Nope, you don't need to purchase anything extra at all. That is the whole idea here. You get your truck tuned for a fraction of the cost of what it would be to buy all the stuff needed to do it yourself.

He flashed my truck yesterday, absolutely worth it. took maybe 10 minutes and the truck is actually fun to drive. No rev hang when down shifting was amazing. Cant thank him enough.

This is a tuned version of the stock ECM and TCM (automatic transmission). The files are the 2.0 final OVTune release and have modified injection, ignition, torque management (demand), and shift logic. There are different options for octane, tire size, gears, gearlocking (auto - awaiting availability), Atkinson mode, and throttle response depending on your preference.

    Massive drive-ability improvement.

~50 hp/60ft-lbs gain at 4000rpm depending on fuel.

It doesn't. In all honesty, I think Matt squeezed out every bit of performance with the 2.0 tunes.

What I am offering is a tune flashing service to give people the option of having their truck tuned without spending the ~$800 it would take to do it themselves now. If you already have it, there is no benefit.

    Hi,
Is there any good tune for 87 octane gas, or is it a requirement to use premium gas only?
    Thanks,
    Jorge

Yes, the base tunes are for 87. You can use 87 with the premium files, but performance will actually be worse than the regular files.

I am currently running a regular file and like it a lot.

    Hi,
Thanks for the replay, one more question. I still have the stock battery, but I'm planning to upgrade to a group 27 AGM. Will the Charge voltage adjustment damage the stock battery?

I just had the base 87 tune done to my truck and all I can say is it is sooooo much better. The acceleration is very linear and smooth. The transmission shifts very smooth either up shifting or down shifting. And that’s only within the first 50 miles it should get even better. I don’t know why Toyota doesn’t use this tune I think people wouldn’t bitch half as much about the performance and probably sell more truck.:thumbsup:

I’ll be interested in the coming months, located in Newington.

To pick which tune/map based on options, premium vs 87, etc. we should look at OVTune and then pick one of them?

I actually work in Newington so it should be easy to meet up.

Yeah, you should have some idea of what your are looking for, with the biggest choice being if you are going to run 87 or 91/93 on a regular basis. At this point, I would not recommend the "THX" tunes with amplified throttle response. Feedback on those has not been great. The easy choices are if you have gears and/or taller tires. In general I would recommend starting out with the base tunes. They are literally night and day different from stock.

I personally just flashed the MT 93 Super FOB tune the other day. It's wild and the added power is definitely noticeable. On 87 you get all the throttle and shifting improvements, but minor if any power gains.

Control Engineer eh, probably at Hanwha, Tomz, or other shops around but they’re the largest around the area.

I’ll take a look and see. Currently 2.5” Lift, Sliders, and have 255/80/17 E Load sitting in the garage waiting to be put on. No plans for regearing.
I like that I’m able to put in 87 because cheaper but wonder if 91/93 may make more sense

I actually work for a small integration company. There are only 7 employees which is nice.

I have someone lined up for tomorrow, and I am available all weekend if anyone is interested.

If anyone is interested we can get a group together to meet up in a central location convenient to everyone. I am willing to travel for a group of 4+. TSBs are free if required and we can do any Techstream customizations at the same time.
