I'm trying to add a L14-30 outlet on the back of my house. Rather than having a separate box along side the standard outlet, I want to put both in the same 2-gang box. The problem I'm having is that no one seems make a 2 gang cover plate. Has anyone seen more than a single L14-30 in a box before?

Was hard to tell from the pictures he showed us, but it looked like some white padded plastic sheathing looking stuff.

The image they showed us was pretty much like this, though their photo looked a lot more loose.

Finally got my laundry room utility sink installed. Tied into the supply and drain lines with the washer.

    34AB220D-0345-492A-BE56-B6C8ECA27C13.jpg

Now to build a shelf/cabinet/storage thing to go in between the sink and appliances to hide all of it and store laundry baskets and other stuff.

More headway on the built-in cabinets. Making doors today. 1/4” maple and getting my cheap table saw set to cut the rabbets.

I work with wiring everyday, but that still looks very workable, the stuff to avoid is the old cloth insulation wire that to touch is to deinsulate.

Agreed, it’s workable but I’m no electrician. If you notice, I put orange tape on the wires which connect and black on the others. They wired 3 black to one white and the other 3 whites are together ?!?

That's ok, let me tell you as an electrician if all our problems were that easy to deal with our life wouldn't be a 1/10th as bad

The switch leg as shown in that pic which was way more common 40 years ago stumps a lot of people and we end up remedying them when a homeowner trys to fix a problem and corrects the wiring and puts all the blacks together and whites together and it still doesn't work

The power flows through the black and then goes down the white to the switch and back up on the black, so basically you link the power throughout the lights in the house and then run a wire to the switch to switch that particular light

Building drawers today. Last step of this build- 2 weeks in exactly.
I didn’t have the patience to set up my table saw for finger joints so rather than buy a dado stack or a table for my router I decided to make the drawers the “easy“ way. I ended up using Brad nails because i didn’t have enough clamps for all the drawers and figured nobody would see them anyway, so there.

    5F0BDD82-E4B4-434B-A918-041EE37BF8FD.jpg

1/4” maple again for the base of the drawers and I need to pick out something for the face. The inside is getting satin clear and the face is getting semigloss white so it doesn’t have to be fancy but I want it durable enough. Sleep now. I’ll mount them tomorrow.

Here's a quick, simple and strong drawer box build that I use. One setup but you'll need a dado blade. Works like a charm.
