I completely recommend the Viofo A119 v3, a 256gb card, and the Dongar Plug and Play. Took me all of 5 minutes and no electrical problems yet. Been about 2 weeks, powered by the autodimming rear-view. Only powers on when car is on, didn't want parking mode. Dongar is about 30$, memory card is about 30$, Viofo was about 130$, and I also got the CPL lens for glare for some amount.

Dongar adapter here also with an Insignia front and rear cam mounted on the rear view mirror post. Got cam for fathers day and it's great. I've got a 128gb card but this cam records on a loop and I wont run out of space.

Man, I also got the Viofo A119V3, mem card, dongar adapter and filter. I decided to get the Viofo, after reading reviews of the Garmin mini camera and most reviews said it ran hot. It was after I watched a video by Chloe Kuo [youtube channel "ChloeKuo"] where she told about the Dongar adapter, that I decided to get a camera. I liked the Viofo because it has a screen, albeit, a small screen, but it has a screen. I did not want to have to connect my phone in order to do any modifications to the camera, which is the case with the Garmin mini. As "vintage_carrot" said, it is an extremely easy install, taking less than 5 minutes. Heck, the adapter itself is worth buying, even if you don't end up getting a camera, because the adapter for the mirror puts a USB port right there behind the mirror, which can be very handy if you have devices that you stick to the windshield, such as a Garmin navigation unit, or your smartphone. I second the vote for the Viofo!

Really like my Rexing V1-4K. So far it has reliably worked in -30C and +35C weather because it has a capacitor instead of a battery. Its low power consumption is nice and allows it to work well with the available mirror USB adapter. It’s mount can also be modified to fit the Gopro mount some of the Tacoma’s have. Quite happy with it.
