Anybody else have issues with their AC functioning poorly on hot days?

I've noticed lately my truck barely cools air on days when the temp is over 85. Even after 30 mins of driving with the AC on full blast it's blowing only marginally cool air.

Either low on Freon “leak” or condenser not getting enough airflow if I had to guess.

Mine is much colder than my 2nd gen, even right after the 2nd gen was recharged.

Sounds like something is not right with yours.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
My AC sucks. Toyota says it’s acceptable. 58° deep in the vent pipe. I had a Hyundai Sonata that would freeze you out of the car. It takes 50 miles on a 100° day to get the Taco icy cold.

One thing that helps a lot; run the truck around 2500/3000rpm. The AC will blow really cold. It’s like the pulley on the AC compressor needs a little smaller of a pulley so it spins a little faster.

    It’s not just you bro.

My AC is around 60* at the hotest, on 100* plus days at an idle. With a self added condenser fan, at idle, with a bit of revs I can hold 38-40*. Must be the individual quirks of each machine.

Have it checked out, these trucks have fantastic AC units (at least mine does). Driving yesterday at 100 degrees and mine was so cold I had to move the vanes away from blowing on my hands while driving.
