I just bought my 4th Tacoma. I got a 2001 4x4. 278000 miles with a 5 speed stick. I have a question: is there any way to extend the drivers seat track? Is there anyone that builds them or is it by guess or by golly? Thanks, in advance, for your thoughts.

    Welcome.

I would think that extending the rails would be pretty difficult. Getting them welded staight enough to provide smooth function would be hard.

A lot of people get 3rd gen 4Runner seats and install them, but I think it is mainly for the comfort/quality. I don't know that the rails are any longer. Might be though.

I tried a search and have attached results. Happy reading!

FWIW, I installed a set of BMW seats, using the tracks for them, and it provided a really wide range of forward and back motion. You can almost crush your chest against the steering wheel, or go back 'til you can't reach the pedals (and I'm 6'1") Welcome to TW, and hold on to your wallet.

    Welcome!!

The whole modifying and installing different seats is always going to be a personal thing not enough market .

A good fabricator could do the work it would not be cheap .

I would need to look but I think the approach would be source drivers seat tracks attach them to the original tracks if you have a regular cab I don`t see you getting much.

What outcome are you looking for ??

    Head room? leg room ?
