Viair 400P

Hello,

I have a Viair 400P (not the automatic model) and was wondering if anybody has experience with the following:

• Can I leave the compressor on and move to each tire to continue inflating? Or do I need to turn it off each time? I tried it and it works, but wanted to make sure I'm not causing any excessive damage if it wasn't designed to do this.
• Is there a way to modify the included air hose fitting? I included a picture of how mine looks like. It's a pain to get it to clamp on sometimes and requires some finessing. I quick disconnect would be nice.

 

You can leave it running. I’m not a fan of the coiled hose. I’m sure you could adapt whatever inflation fitting you wanted with a trip to Home Depot.

 

I'm thinking a Flexzilla 1/4" hose with a quick connect chuck would suit me well. Just don't know which parts are needed. Reading a lot of conflicting information online as well as with Viair's customer service. They would me I'll need an "open flow" chuck, but I'm seeing multiple people on other forums suggesting a "closed flow" chuck. Then there's a lot of different feedback when it comes to the connector to goes from the 1/4" hose to the actual compressor.
