What should I replace while I'm rebooting my CV axles?

I'll be rebooting both my CV axles in the coming weeks. The passenger's side has two tears in it. Don't know how long they've been there. How can I tell if the CV axle is still good? I don't hear any clunking or clicking from that area when I'm driving. I'll also be replacing complete UCA's, lower ball joints, LCA bushings, steering rack bushings, and possibly inner and outer tie rods. Also thinking about doing the ECGS bearing replacement since I will have the axle out. Would I be smart to plan on replacing the axle seals while I'm in there? Anything else I should be looking for?

 

You might price the axles and consider replacing the whole assembly

Easier / faster than guessing about the joints, repacking them and rebooting.

Unless the whole rebuild process is something you are experienced with.

 

No experience with rebuilding CV axles.

 

I did it before on my Mazda. More work than just replacing the axle. Wasn't torn for very long. The repair lasted for about a year. Boot is still there but the small bit of contamination I assume ruined the CV axle because I have to replace it. If I had to do it again - I would just replace the axle.

 

What would I be looking for to determine the condition of the axle?
