Naw this kind of fell off the radar. We can try and start up the convo again? I think most members on here go to the Toyota Day at the dunes.

Is this the closest thing to a yooper thread?

Technically not a yooper here (full disclosure)... But having a camp in the UP has to count for something...

Yes, once a yooper always a yooper. I’ll only ever be a guest.

The vast majority of areas you don’t need stickers; so long as you’re driving a legally registered road vehicle; but still, I always get them just to make sure I’m covered.

You’ll want the ORV ($26) and ORV Trail ($10). You can get them anywhere hunting/fishing licenses are sold; I usually get mine from an ace hardware across the street from me. But any sporting store, big box like meijers or Walmart, power sports stores, even several gas stations up north, sell them.

Just relocating to the Soo - looking forward to some adventures and getting the truck dirty in the UP and getting to MI outdoors!

I'm not too interested in rollin around the dunes either. They look fun and all, but all the sand... Makes me shiver! I just went 2 tracking around in the Manistee Forest area a couple weeks ago. It was dope. But I'm sure there are some really cool trails in the UP too. Definitely, let me know if this should come to fruition (PLEASE!)

Tons of forest trails in the Crystal Falls area. The UP has no shortage of these.

For the most part there was nothing too crazy. Just a lot of mud. Some big puddles, a couple of hill climbs. But I did end up climbing over a downed tree on a dead end path and had a real fun time getting back over it on the way back. It was a little more rowdy than I had bargained for... Recovery boards for the win. The FJ is my daily driver, but I don't mind a few scratches in the paint.

Right on, mine is my dd too. I've got a winch so no worries getting stuck.
