Sounds like good advice! Back to the drawing board! Going super small isn’t going to work for me but perhaps cutting back 1000lbs to 3500# dry range will make the trip that much more enjoyable. Thanks everyone.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
Other fun things that aren't hard to tow and keep the weight down:
Hard sided pop ups (no canvas, low profile to tow).
Casita / Scamp / Oliver Legacy Elite (Fiberglass trailers)
A frame pop ups look fun and easy to set up too.
    T@B 320 S / Tab 400 are teardrop but with toilets, etc.

    way different to work on

if U drive in the torque range of the i4
    it will pull as designed
    wont be impressive
    yet
the correct gear generous revs wont hurt anything

Owned a 2012 Rpod, haven't owned a Epro or Geopro, but did look at them. Between family and friends we've seen and owned many trailers and this is the one we ended up with (twice). https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2020-Winnebago-Micro-Minnie-1706FB-5007260515

1706fb has so many nice features you won't find with other lightweight, offroadable trailers. You'll only sleep 3 comfortably, which is a PITA often.

We liked the Lance 1475 and 1575 trailers, https://www.lancecamper.com/travel-trailers/1575/ those are really damn nice. Great to have front and rear windows.

R-pod, Epro, Geopro are workable, but if I can get a short trailer with dual axles, dual axles is my choice.

Oddly, besides dual axles, dual kitchen sinks is a high priority. Surprising how much smoother meal cleanup goes with two sinks. Then you get into having a two-door fridge/freezer combo as opposed to single door, better to have two door.

Basically, what we look for is dual everything. Dual propane tanks, dual batteries, dual axles, dual sinks, dual fridge/freezer doors.

Us, family, friends have been searching for the perfect trailer for many years, always compromises when getting out and about.

We've got a Jayco Kiwi that's a hybrid. Pretty small package, but the fold outs give you lots of bed space. GVW is right around 3500, and with trailer brakes and ride rites, it tows pretty well. It's tall, so wind can be a problem, but otherwise I love it. Fits our family of 4 pretty well.

My wife and I just ordered the Bullet 1700 bhs crossfire. Dry weight is 3,200. We liked the NoBo, but wifey had to have the glamorous inside looks of the crossfire.
