The PowerTanks do look great. But they do have disadvantages.
    1. It can be difficult to find a place to fill them.
    2. They have to be hydro tested every 5 years.
    3. It pisses you off when they get scratched.

I bought an exchange tank from my welding supplier.
    1. I never get it filled. I exchange it at almost any welding supplier.
    2. The hydro test is the supplier's responsibility.
    3. I don't care if it gets scratched.

Because I don't care about it getting scratched, I've never mounted it. I lay it on its side in a plastic tote. Out of sight of theives and out of my way. (Of course I stand it upright to use it.)

I returned my 6 tons yesterday-no questions asked though initially they tried to refund a “sales price” but was corrected. It was not worth the risk to me to keep them even though mine were not the primary recall sku number jacks.

Biggest disadvantage so far was getting it filled but now that I have a place locally to go to its not a major problem. Really the only time I'll be airing down now is when I go to the beach to surf fish. I don't do nearly as much off-roading now as compared to when I had my FJ. And to play it safe I picked up a Viair 400P as a backup.

I did use a pair of tweezers to help. It took a couple of tries. My first attempt was a disaster but was able to peel it back off.

I was forced to relocate my AM/FM antennae since the overhang of the camper completely blocked reception. You can see it above the snorkel.

This is only for the AM/FM. Only three of these are the cable, mounting block, and the antennae, the rest are adapters. I found this system somewhere in TW. Reception is improved from before the camper. Installation was easy; maybe an hour. Cost was about $68

    Good luck!

@Cappy, I’ll be taking my head unit out in a couple of weeks (away from the truck checking out Montana for 10 days!) and am happy to take a photo I’d interested of exactly which plug is the AM/FM as there’s lots of ‘em

Using the wet method for applying decals gives you a lot of forgiveness to help slide the decal exactly where you want it.
Or you just need years of model building practice to develop a steady hand when applying decals.

Also buying a double of the decals help because it seems you only ever mess up when you have one shot at doing something.

That looks good. Thanks for all of the information. I may go that route as I feel it will improve my reception.
