My wife's knees aren't the best either, but she made the hike last summer. I drive school but and have taken groups of kids to Porcupine lots of times. I told my wife if a bunch of chubby third graders can make it she can. She did, but it was pretty much at the limits of what she can do.

Exhausted wife in front. Daughter and grandkids following. And of course Astro the wonder pup in the foreground.

Our grandson at the falls. You guys are right, the water is cold. Couldn't get him to do more than wade a little. When I was there with a school group two years ago, some of the older kids and one of the teachers went swimming. Way too cold for me.

Fixed my spray nozzle. The plastic adapter split from freezing last year. I think I have more money in the brass fittings and spray gun than the damn pump sprayer thing. But glad to have it back.

Nice. Filled mine up today to go camping this weekend and noticed the clamp/holder things for the pump handle are starting to crack. I need to stop picking it up by the pump handle when it's full...

bummer. Bound to happen though. Damn plastic..

But I'd bet you can just go buy a new pump and be good. Can't be too much.

Probably. I’m considering just installing an electric water pump that pulls from my 5 gallon jug instead. One less thing to have to carry.

Nope. But the sprayer makes it super easy to wash dishes and not use an excessive amount of water. Also wash hands and hair. And brush ones teeth. It's worth it trust me. It's a small thing but it's like the fridge kind of. Needed? No. Nice to have? Oh yes.

    Plus it's small anyways

    @Blackdawg

When I'm out doing, I want minimal number of things that require electrons under pressure to be functional. It's bad enough being at home with such devices.:annoyed:

    Electrons?

Having pressurized water at home is a hassle?

I'm not following what you just said haha

Electrons as in electricity for the pump. I might have confused you with the post by PcBuilder getting an electric water pump. If you are using a garden type sprayer then your good!

At home I have a well with a pump which feeds a cistern and pump and pressure tank that forces the water to flow in the house & when there is a problem; the best it can be is a royal PIA. Nothing about a well water system is inexpensive.

So, if you're using a hand pump garden sprayer for dishes, showers etc., I'm impressed and will use that myself.

Yeah well you eat nothing but hot dogs so yeah :luvya:

ah yeah no its a pump spray. I don't want an electric pump either! haha

Although my first version of the portable shower was a beer keg and I used my Vair portable air compressor for it to stay preassurized. It worked well too but was a pain to haul due to its size.

This is just a 2 gal pump sprayer basically: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MY6CZ6J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For 30 bucks, totally worth it. Doesn't take up that much room.

I find this dificult to envision. If there are 2 meals a day, that is about one ounce of water per meal.

This is not true. Maybe it was at one time but not from what I witnessed last trip.

Made it myself. Top plate I got from @eimkeith but the sides I made myself. Took a lot more time than I thought it would to get to fit up.

Prepping the buckets sucks too with the engine in. But whatever. About to start burning stuff in.
