Debating on putting 33’s on my 84 or should I stick with the 31’s I currently have?? Maybe it will only look more aggressive but any Benefits? I haven’t had any problems going on some mid aggressive trails

Great looking truck! It would look awesome with 33s, but looks pretty badass with the 31s now. I'm a function over fashion kinda guy, so I say if they're working for you, keep em.

Thanks man yeah I like the way they ride and perform and maybe 33’s would look nice but will see I don’t want my 22r struggling going up hills with the bigger tires

Looks darn good now, so I would stick with what works. Stick with 31s.

My avatar shows my '81 with 33's on it. What a dog going up hill and running down the highway in the wind. I regeared to 5.29's and life was better. You will take a power hit going to 33's.

    Great looking truck!

Your engine will be happier with lighter tires, if it were me I’d find some lightweight 33’s assuming you go that route. If you do push up to 33’s, make sure that your CV angle isn’t too out of whack.

I’ve had this debate with myself a few times. For me, the benefits of extra clearance don’t outweigh the expenses and the “performance” drop on the highway. But hey, it would look badass. I wish I had the cohones to move up from 31s....

Not unless you re-gear. My 93 doesn't even like having 265/75s on it. Be fun to crawl in, but if you DD it then don't bother.

It ain't broke, don't try to fix it. To do it right you'll spend 1/2 as much as the truck is worth as is. To gain 1 inch of ground clearance.

No practical benefits. If you can get through on 31s, 33s won't do much. The jump to 35s would be the next step in trail capability, but then you're looking at regearing, different birfs and clearance. Dual cases or LCE 22R supercharger would probably give more satisfaction.

Those 31's look perfect on that truck. No need to go bigger.
I had an '81 (wish I still had it).

    Cheers

Sometimes a little more is too much. That truck is on point as is. Leave it.
