Couldnt keep up in here at all today. The heat was killer. I drank a lot of water and still dont think I drank enough.
Did you clean the weld area? I'm no welder either, My welds may look something like that.:anonymous: I'll be getting more practice. One day I hope to be decent.
Depending on the answer to the previous question, Could paint have caused some of the trouble if it wasnt cleaned.
    Looks great man!
A shower felt so good. It was to dang hot working in the bed, it kicked my a** even with the windoors open!
That actually wasnt bad. The bins had them installed from the last owner and we used a pry bar to lift the drawer up to get the bolts started on the tailgate side ones. Then a small air ratched to zip them down the rest of the way.
Get measurements before you order. Make sure you can still fit coolers(or fridge) with the Cap pack and decked back there.
Gratz Man! You ever coming up to Maners?:poking:

I wasn't able to get one of my bolts all the way in, but it works fine. I kind of forgot about it. Glad it went easy for you.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm just trying to learn more. Just started learning to weld a few months ago so theres a lot I dont know and I havent put much time into it yet. I'll be interested to see Maners @Bigdaddy4760 response about how much the paint could have affected the weld.

If I do go I’ll be staying at a friends house in the Dominion area of San Antonio then drive south towards Devine Saturday morning. Depending how sober or intoxicated we get at Marks, we’ll camp there for the night or drive back to my friends crib

Probably helped having Maner lift the drawer with a pry bar while I threaded. The entire center was lifting off the bed a little. The hardest part for me was working under the cap up by the cab and to keep the bolts from wanting to cross thread. I feel like most of the bolts on the top had damaged thread at the ends and looked kinda flat. I've never had so much trouble getting bolts to thread in straight and correctly. I eventually got them all but it easily tripled the time bolting the top down should have taken. I had to take a lot of breaks to cool off a little. Both my legs started cramping when I was all the way up near the cab.
He's been my metal working and welding mentor/teacher. He's got a welder in my hand for the first time ever earlier this year and allowing me to learn in his shop. I ask tons of questions and also googling a lot on my own too. Then I take what I read online and run it by him to make sure its not complete crap information.

I havent had the space to try welding and was to cheap to buy one just to try and learn. After what I've learned now I plan on buying one next time I move and there will be a space I can use it or I wont be buying!

So your going to clump everyone in the Army that's at Fort Hood in the same category as that shit bag and his accomplice(s)?

William paints the Army to be the perfect military branch and takes a shit on what I want to do while that is going on in Killeen. No military branch is perfect but cmon they’re falling apart in Killeen

First, if you are going to make it in the military you need to be able to take the shit talking.... It has and always will happen. Second, he says shit to you because of how you react.... And most others in other branches will as long as you react like that.

You don't ever clump everyone who wears a certain uniform all in the same category. Don't think the Air Force hasn't had some POS' do shit similar or some other fucked up shit. Pretty sure you wouldn't want to be clumped into the same category of a POS that is also in the AF, just because your are AF.
