Super stoked with my Northstar X2 Power. Identical to an Odyssey but cheaper.

    I got a Group 24F.

I got it from Batteries Bulbs Plus. They were on sale at the time. Plus there was a 15 or 20% promotion if you order online then pick up in store. Plus the $18 core fee.

All said and done it was around $240 out the door after tax.

Noice, those are some legit battery connectors as well. And the connections and shrink wrap and all look very cleanly done. Nice stuff man.... Maybe next slow day I'll clean my engine bay.... It's motivating seeing that pic

They do not but you don't need them. OEM uses the metal retainers, those have a tighter fit and need no retainer.

I installed new horns after not having a working horn for at least a year.

My 98 connections needs to be cleaned up too.

Figured I’d start fresh with the 04. One of the first things I did was remove so much unnecessary add ons both the original owner and previous owner (of 4 months) did. Figured it was a good time to do it right from the start.

No I know but I’m saying if you get new knobs you won’t need the metal clips. I lost one too at one point.

I've hauled enough loads of batteries of out Johnsons Controls in Yuma, AZ to tell you they are mostly all made at the same place with the same crap, just get different labels. I've hauled loads that have all different brands in one load even to other distribution centers including AutoZone batteries. Just like with all other manufacturing, quality grade often impacts what brand it gets attached to.

Truck rarely gets driven and is trailered everywhere. If it goes bad I’ll replace it under warranty. I thought 200 was a lot for an optima. Can’t believe people are paying what they pay for some things.
That’s the case with 99% of products now a days. All same product made by the same factory with a different sticker and some have better quality control on what’s actually sent out.

I got in a flame fest last time I posted about batteries in here but fuck it I dont care. I would just get a parts store AGM and save the money. Optimas are over priced for what they are and if your truck is sitting most of the time, just a cheap AGM with a battery tender so it's not dead when you load it up on the trailer. I have a car quest AGM stock sized battery and it has been drained twice, nursed back to health with a jump start from my avalon and a cheap battery tender and works great and holds a full charge still. No issues winching with it either.

I've still been running yellow top Optimas. Not lasting as long as they use to but still get 4-5years out of them. Advance Auto always has 20-25% off coupons where I pickup one for around $180-190.

Noticing better resting voltage with using the voltage booster. Running a higher charging voltage is keep both my yellow tops closer to their designed voltage. Especially with AGM, voltage input needs to be at it's designed voltage which is slightly higher than a standard battery.
