Will the gas tank skid be frame mounted? One company has the gas tank kid mounted to the straps, this method will crush the tank when you fall on a rock..

Am I crazy or did I see gas tank skids for a short period. If I recall they were fairly thin compared to the trilogy?

What’s the recommended re-route path for the exhaust?

in front of the transfer case like this:CF72ED33-458A-473D-9F39-F8571AF86EBB.jpg

    or behind the tcase

You really can't go in front of it because the transmission is there, plus you'll get more cool airflow behind it further away from the tcase.

The first photo is a photo of the exhaust rerouted in front of the transfer case and he has skids.

It would probably be fine, just seems easier to go behind it and looks to be the more popular route.

Finally getting these installed, could someone tell me where each of these bolts goes?

I haven't put mine on yet and it looks like I may have a couple different small bolts than you.
The 4 long bolts go through the crossmember and the end of the skid, 2 on each side as seen in post #304 just above.
Look at the pic labeled "behind the tcase" and you will see the 4 bolts.
The 3 mushroom headed carriage bolts hold the skid and the skid's cross member together.
Then you need 2 of the 1/2" bolts to hold the skid's crossmember to the frame and you need to drill holes for those.
I got 3 of the 1/2" bolts each with 2 washers and a lock nut.

I did good and snug for my IFS and mid but obviously Jerry is the expert lol. I think OEM spec for where the OEM skid bolts up is 23 or so?

We don't use factory mounting location for the skids. And German torque is fine there is no need to bring out a torque wrench to bolt on a skid plate.

Ah yes, it’s where those brackets/cross members were.

    I use anti seize

I'm sure loc tite would be okay. Though I use the nylon lock nuts for the rear.

The countersink bit you used was a 1/2 inch bit right?
