AFAIK, the 15-22 Sport model isn't CA-compliant.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Okay...so that means I’ll just have to go to a store and get the CA complaint one before I order the wrong one.

 

Please explain this to me? Is it the high capacity mag? I thought rimfire were exempt as well as there is no list/restrictions for rifles other than AW. I really try to understand our Kalif. laws. Tks.

 

The S&W 15-22 is legal in California because it is a .22 rim fire, but i do belive that they sell 2 different models, one having 10 round pined mags and the non California which has standard cap mags.

Yup all rimfire is exempt from the AW rules. Still comes with a 10 round mag, but you can use standard makes if you legally own them.

Good news. I think Cali is backassward on firearms. Every year more laws, that can't be enforced and no one really understands, are passed in the interest of "public safety". This is a result of our benevolent leader creating policies and laws that he knows are 100% illegal to "make a point". In the end we pay twice. Once to the state for fighting the lawsuits by from the NRA - AKA Domestic Terrorist Organization. Then we pay the NRA/CRPA to keep them inline.

The funny thing is that there are tons and tons of firearms in Cali, including the bay area. The few ranges that were left before COVID were packed dusk till dawn. Private ranges and classes are full. It's a new industry for the Left Coast.

Realistically though, if you need more than 10 rounds in a gun fight it might be time to rethink you strategy.

 

I'll take more rounds in magazines with all of the insanity going on right now.

That too, with shortages and the background checks. I'm ready to leave the state at this point. Was gone for a year and a half and it's gotten worse. Covid was a tipping point for us.

 

Where do I start with Cali. The powers that be have made a beautiful and diverse landscape virtually uninhabitable, unless you're a drug addict, criminal or homeless. That combined with the insane cost of living to finance it all makes it difficult to justify staying.

We will have a COVID tax, guaranteed. I'm thinking $100/parcel property tax and +1 cents sales tax. Of course they will reallocate that to something else and nothing will get done.
