I have an 18 tacoma trd off road with 2 inch level kit and 31.5 tires. Can I put a topper on the bed with a roof rack and not worry about changing the suspension?

    hi, welcome to TacomaWorld!
I can't answer your question but perhaps you'll get more response from those who can if you provide more details. Such as, what kind of topper? How tall? Approximate weight (including rack system)? Configuration (over-the-cab, 'hump', etc.)?
I know next to nothing about lifts, but it seems to me that the physics of weight (and height) would determine the limits of your vehicle suspension to perform its function.
....and what does Toyota say, or what does the owners' manual say about weight limits (if anything)?
I think it's wise of you to ask questions before just jumping into this so keep asking and c.y.a. (cover your ass--etts). Good luck.

Yes, you'll be fine. People (me included) go way-overboard on suspension setups. The factory springs are fine with a constant small load from a topper with roof rack. A topper with a roof rack is less than 200lbs, so no different than a guy riding in the back of the truck all the time.

If you start adding more things in there all the time - lots of tools, a camping platform, etc, you may have to upgrade your suspension.
