pretty gnarly, not sure if it was sidewinder because i'm not familiar with the trail names. We went down that road and when we hit a junction we took a right, which i believe was Bronco Flats, according to my trucks gps.

that picture was taken on an offshoot to the left. @TacoPharm and i left our trucks on the side and my buddy Derek took his 4runner up it, made it through the first two rock obstacles, but had to come back because he couldn't make it up the third.

We continued down the trail until we hit Bronco Peak, but there was a gnarly downhill rutted area that i didn't feel comfortable going down, so we headed back out. All in all it was a blast.

thats Bronco Flats, not sidewinder. Was there a section that takes a hard right and you have to zig zag over some rocks on either side before the rutted out section?

yeah, i remember that part. made it up the first set of rocks fine, but needed a couple of attempts at the section where it opened up a bit

Had a blast! Thanks again for taking the lead. @Trah showed what a 4X2 with tires, suspension and a healthy dose of huevos can achieve.
@desertjunkie760 we took Gunslinger911 and Derek attempted the first side trail to the left, I don’t remember the name but I think it had diamond in the name. It starts with a huge boulder with a smaller rock step to the left where the pic of the 4Runner was taken when we were heading back out. We took Gunslinger to Bronco Flats until the Bronco Peak trail head, where Bronco flats begins the downhill decent to Los Pinos. With the deep parts of the rut running off center of the trail, angle of decent and off camber sections, we decided to leave the way we came in. Awesome end to the day.

Thanks for hanging out with us after we split off, we had a blast and it was fun having someone else with us. Usually it's just me and Derek roaming around the deserts/mountains.

It was definitely fun! Gunslinger/Bronco Flats was definitely my type of trail to mob down!

I'm planning a trip to hike the slot canyon and possibly see the wind caves Tuesday. Short notice I know but if anyone is interested they are welcome to tag along. The reason for Tuesday is that it is a new moon and I plan to stick around and do a bit of stargazing before returning home.
