Yep I was planning on getting some of the tunes from the guy on here. A guy I know has done so with great results. I just plan on taking it to the local guy for some fine tuning of the base.

There is a very detailed description of the info you are looking for on the website. Production steering kits will be officially available in the next month

He’s actually in Texas. But here’s the big hp tuner thread. Lots of good info and this is the place to ask any questions you may have.

Somewhere there's a write up on a guy who did that. Built a converter harness and shifter setup. Unfortunately it blows up the ECU when the trans is in the "wrong" gear for what the ECU thinks is going on. I looked into building a simulator harness for that too, so the ECU would always be happy.

But I ended up deciding the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for a road legal truck, and for a non-road legal truck there are easier options.

Will you be solid mounting the cab, or have you already? Knowing how thrashed my cab bushings were when I replaced, and knowing how much the cab flexes with respect to the frame (or other way around), and how tight that cage is, I am thinking there is a high likelihood of movement between the bars and the body. Maybe they will self clearance, maybe the result will be no big deal. but I'd imagine there would be lots of squeaking if there is movement?

I can hardly believe my eyes on how tight it is, nice work. I don't think anyone has done a cage like this in a tacoma that I know of, so once again you are likely in uncharted territory. crazy.

He’ll weld the cab to the cage in several spots. Not sure if it’ll be worth swapping the rubber mounts out for solid ones or not after that. I left my poly bushings in when I welded the cab to the cage and haven’t had any additional cab cracking from flex since. At that I only had the usual one spot in the rear corners of the back doors

Poly would be way better than stock, but even still, all the forces at some places you've welded sheet metal to the cab is not the same as supporting the cab where it was intended. Oh well, I guess it may be a non issue.

No point to solid mount with how detailed this cage is. Every single tube hugs the cab and the cab will be tig welded to the cage with silicon bronze filler rod. Once it’s done you could cut all the body mounts off the frame and it wouldn’t matter. Yes I could have taken the time to make solid cab mounts but it wouldn’t do anything other than add more money to the already $40k+ bill for this truck

Fantastic fab and oh so clever. Epic OCD-level for doing it right, gives ya the warm fuzzies. Wish I had the coin to go all in like this. What an amazing truck. Its a more modern version of the Trekker.
