For those of you with a roof mounted light bar, like on a Prinsu rack. How did you route the power to it? Did you drill your roof, or run the wire along the side of your windshield. Or something else??

Oh boy, now some electrical genius will develop a way to mount a solar panel and batteries on the rack. Then tell you that you need their proprietary equipment to do it.

Or, you could do what's been done for years and run the power up the outside back of the cab along the window then either alongside or even through the rack fore and aft members to the front rack member.

Just tuck it into your windshield strip - leading into engine for power - into the firewall for the switch.

I did it along the windshield a pillar. Came out super clean, can’t even see it. Glad I didn’t drill the roof.

Good to hear!!! I would hate drilling into my taco!!! You can fit maybe another wire into the same slot :DDDDD

One thing I learned long ago, never drill holes in your truck. Sure as shootin it's going to rust, no matter how careful you are sealing the bare metal.

I don't know who's drilling in their truck, I guess if it's paid off or whatever that's one option lol. I used a knife (carefully) because I didn't have my flat head on hand and didn't feel like running back upstairs for it. The wiring should be slim enough to set in between the windshield molding and pillar. Might not be the best pic but here's mine

I did the same, tucked it into the windshield seam.. Looking at getting Baja Designs S8, since another post got me thinking.. I'll run smaller gauge wires then to tuck them in nicer.. HARNESS 3.jpg
