I'm old what is this for or do?

 

It's an adjustable seatpost from a flick of a lever for a mountain bike.

 

Reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy very easy to set up and install?

 

It's pretty straight forward with a bit of tuning in lengthening the line, routing line if your bike has internal routing & adjusting the cable. Some run hydraulic fluid.

 

its been all the rage in the mtb scene for the last few years... everyone that I know who has one swears by them

just think best of both worlds for anyone who is climbing hills and and rolling down them often throughout a trail...

 

Must also help with comfort no???

Exactly what UURX said. A dropper has become one of those must haves on fair to long rides.

Drop the seat down while decending helps a rider get in position and seat up helps a rider climb comfortable position without fatigue.

Saddle or seat.. whichever for whomever prefers the term. Lol
