We shall see. I’ve smashed some Amazon ones. Someone said those fiery red ones are really good?

Yes. Apperently they require 2 mounts with extensions. Was going to pick up som maxtrax, but this seems like a good deal and if they end up being trash, I can just use the mounts

Something worth considering when making a decision.. the inexpensive traction boards like X-Bull don't seem to nest as well so are taller when stacked.

Are you sure you need the extensions if you are only mounting the boards? What extensions would you need if you were going to stack them on top of a 4 gallon rotopax?

    Here's my plan:
    20200519_104738.jpg 20200519_172452.jpg

I have the mount I'm building in the garage, so I can simply throw this together for you.

    LOX mount base:
    20200519_171548.jpg20200519_172617.jpg

RotoTrax on that base and w/ LOX:
    20200519_171602.jpg20200519_171638.jpg

Now, how I interpret the sites instructions - use a small extension. Note how it doesn't work:
    20200519_171812.jpg 20200519_171846.jpg

    Stacking info.

    Mount base + 4 gal:
    20200519_171957.jpg

    Mount base + 4 gal + extension:
    20200519_172030.jpg 20200519_172752.jpg 20200519_172017.jpg 20200519_172738.jpg

    Here's the RotoTrax on the 4gal + extension :

    20200519_172047.jpg 20200519_172111.jpg 20200519_172959.jpg
IMO, the extension needed in this case would need to be 1" taller. Without dimensions from their site, I don't know which one would be best.

    Measurement of the small extension:

    I forgot to summarize:
    • My configuration will work
      • LOX + 2 small extensions will integrate the 4 gal + side-by-side 2x 2gal water + traction boards
      • The LOX needs just a tad off effort to thread into that top extension and has enough thread to tighten down with a little flex of the board (nothing crazy). However IMO, it needs a higher extension for my comfort
    • I'm not understanding why the website says "Stack 2 boards using our 2 gallon extesnion mounts (RX-EXT)" since clearly the extension will not allow the LOX to come into contact with the boards. PERHAPS they want you to remove the wing on the extension- I didn't test this
    • Yes I am aware of the venting challenge my setup poses, but I have some thoughts on that for later.

I emailed rotopax and this is what I got in response

For the traction board if you stack 2 sets of them which is 4 boards you will need 2 - 3 Gallon extensions (RX-EXT3). If you plan to purchase the single set of traction boards which is 2 boards you need the Standard extension (RX-EXT). To add the four gallon we have not yet had a customer try to stack them both together. We believe you can stack the traction boards on top of the 4 Gallon gasoline using the 3 Gallon extension and deluxe or locking mounts. We also do returns for free if things don't work out.

That doesn't make sense against what you're saying?

    This^^

I have the room and don't mind storing the X-Bull's at the front of the bed, but if you're short on space or don't want all that on your roof rack or something like that, should definitely consider their lack of nice nesting.

Sorry, all but I haven't been able to test the boards I bought at this point for build quality. Everything has kind of blown up since I ordered got them and there has been no wheeling.

None yet, but lots of mods planned!
Any progress on this? I'm interested in these boards as well.

I never have really had to test them but have held them up next to maxtrax and the seem comparable but still can't give a fair review of them. Last year really screwed up a lot of my plans. Moab was in the plans for April 2020 but that went to hell.

Would you be able to tell me what the distance is between mounting points? I’ve been wondering if I have the space to mount these with my other gear.
