Are you joining a group buy, by any chance? A friend of mine said his friend just bought a Tacoma and was considering the Diamondback cover. I recommended looking in the forums here to see if there was a group buy going on.

Edit: I found a thread that was shared in an earlier post. Thanks to @notlefty. Gonna share it to my friend. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diamondback-group-buy-5.643201/page-15

That’s a good idea. I guess I thought it may scratch the cover but I don’t think they scratch that easy. I’ll first try that.

Just put some cardboard underneath when hauling to the campsite. Once there, you can use the cardboard as a type of kindling? :notsure:

A simple and excellent idea. I’m going to order the cover tomorrow. I’ve emailed them and I’m just waiting to see if they are still shipping to Canada during this pandemic.

I’m looking for suggestions. Two sides of my voodoo rack are still not lining up. I tried having my son stand on top of the diamondback to compress it down and I’m still not able to put a bolt to secure the rack. Did diamondback make their covers thicker? Looking for any advice. I just want my stuff to work.

When ordering the DB, how many of you went with the 4 extra tie down cleats?
I’m debating adding the extra 4 to give me more options.
    Thanks

Maybe, you stand on the DB cover and your son screws in the bolts? :notsure: (I’m imagining your son is still a boy and weighs significantly less than you, though) Or, get a round file that fits that slot in the outer bracket to file the side of the slot closest to the hole for the screw on the inner bracket. Hopefully, elongating the slot gives enough space to line up the bolts to the holes properly. Sometimes, bolts are just too good for their home...:annoyed:

I got all 12 cleats on mine and I’m glad that I did. It’s really handy for hauling things on top, especially if you want to tightly securing a tarp.

Thanks for the suggestions. My son is an adult so I don’t think my weight will make any difference. Perhaps the DB foam just needs to be broken in more. I will shave it down with a file if I can’t get things figured out.

Don't forget to apply some kind of coating if you do go that route. Never good to show bare metal to the elements.

Not planning to camp for a couple weeks so I decided to take the tent off, took the Diamondback off with it, all as one unit. Clamped some braces to the Diamondback to keep it from folding up on itself.

Thanks for the pics, I have ordered a DB and was wondering if I would run into any issues with my KB Voodoo rack. Since mine is a Short Bed (Rack and Truck) it looks like I'll be able to get by without making any adjustments, but if not I'll look into your approach. Thanks!

Maybe get some pipe insulation foam and slip it on the sides and strap down, or if you don't like the look do it underneath and put some dowel rods in them to make sure they don't compress and scratch your cover.....

I wanted to update everyone on my voodoo rack not fitting on my DB. I ended up loosening all of the bolts so that the brackets could angle down. Now the holes align and I can finally use my rack! Just wanted to share in case anyone else in the future has the same issue.

Just got mine installed. Smooooth Black. Really wanted the Front Runner setup as well they're out of stock. Would love to throw the kayaks on top as well.

Same!! I refresh the page every day.... Its made up of parts they sell and can create the kit with individual parts upon request. Just not precut/measured so extra work for you if you want it sooner.
