DSLR Choice

Hey Guys I am looking to buy a DSLR, but the problem is which one... I was looking at the Nikon d3100 and the Nikon d5000. I am sorta leaning towards the 3100 since I have heard it is a good beginner camera. But then again I heard I should look into Cannon! I am quite confused what do you guys recommend?

 

How much do you want to put into learning to use the camera? If all you want to do is set it to auto and let the camera figure out the ISO, Shutter speed and apeture, then the Nikon or Canon Rebel series are great cameras.

 

I am looking to spend about 850 in all, the deal that Ritz Camera would do me would be
Nikon D3100 -700
55-200 Lens - 150
Free Bag and no interest for 9 months... But after looking online I just confused myself!

im saving up for the nikon d 3100

 

I think that both the d3100 and d5000 are good cameras. i probably would have gotten the d3100 except it is a lot more than the d3000 was... i say anything nikon because i love mine and i liked it better than the canon while i was using it at the store
