Scangauge II, been installed on my ride for a couple years, with cable and clips to attach it to your headliner. So basically its plug and play. I found the clip idea here on the scangauge mounting thread and it has worked FLAWLESSLY for a couple years (thanks TW!)

It is programmed to read the transmission temps on a toyota 4runner (I am not sure if they are the same on a tacoma, sorry, but its pretty easy to program and read as long as you have the right code to program. A lot of people also use them to read fuel economy

Figured i would try to keep it in the community before I post this elsewhere.

asking $60 PRICE REDUCED (+3%PP fee)+I will go halfsies on shipping to you. that shit aint free, pickup is preferred ($80 cash money or PP via F&F) but I will ship and can negotiate based on shipping cost. This is a great deal for a mount, plug, maybe program, and play scangauge II that is ready for use and mounting in your ride.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I will link this in the GA Thread. There was discussion about this just recently.

    Good question. It's running 4.13.

FYI: I called Scangauge a few days ago as I'm shopping for one of these and they said Tacomas need 4.43 and newer to be fully functional. Trans temp gauge may work for us with 4.13 but I know at a minimum TPMS does not. Updating the firmware is $25 I believe.

Is there glue on the top or just tape? Looks like glue under the tape and some other little splotches of glue or epoxy on the outside of the gauge casing.

3m doublestick tape is what I put on there to hold the clips. I could have just put it under the clips but I felt that this would spread the load and give the doublestick more grab. it was mounted in a cubby at one point and I extracted it from said cubby and removed as much adhesive material and cubby bits as I could without hurting the scangauge. I dont like to take harsh chemicals to plastic, and I didnt have any goo-gone on hand. For the record, none of the housing is sticky, or tacky to touch if that answers your question.

"fully functional" is relative. I only needed trans temps on the xgauge so it was fully functional for me. I have an air pressure gauge and a low tire pressure light on the dash. I have found on this site already where you can program a few years of tacos just fine with the xgauge codes which this rev of firmware allows (because it is exactly how I programmed the codes for my 4runner & COMPLETE LIST OF XGAUGES program codes FOR TOYOTA/LEXUS/SCION HERE, spoiler alert it includes multiple methods to program TPMS but it does state 4.45+ is needed):

    and here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/scangauge-ii-transmission-temp.82690/page-3#post-15611587

are you going to make me an offer or just keep giving me free bumps? :hungry:

Hopefully my post didn't come across as angry or anything cause I'm getting some attitude in your response. I was simply trying to share info I learned from their customer service, not saying your part was crap or worthless.

I'll pass on this since it does have leftover adhesive on it. I'm in no hurry but this should be a good deal for someone else who isn't as picky as I am. Best of luck to you.

i sometimes go overboard with info but it wasnt meant to be aggro, sorry if it came out like that. I want the buyer to know what they are getting so they are happy with it. Thanks for helping with that.

Same reason I asked what Firmware it was @clenkeit. Im specifically looking for one for TPMS (since my truck didn't come with them) among the other features as well.

I wish I could remove my TPMS and give it to you. I deleted them from the wheels, and now the light is just on. Doesnt bother me, I just dont want/need it anymore.

@HerT4R you might have some luck posting it in here:

Appreciate the thought. I don't really mind not having the stock ones. It doesn't really give you enough info about what tire, and what pressure they are at any way. Rather have the ScanGauge and get all the other features that come with it.

I'm with ya man about the TPMS. One of mine died I think (lights on the dash but the pressure is fine) and I would rather it just not have pressure monitoring at all.

Selling this because i know its going to be a while til the time comes for me to need another gauge and someone can use this one. Theres still a ton of gauges besides trans temps.
