That looks awesome! I took note.

    >>>>Found a cool dispersed site at Big Sur. It's at the top of the mountain range overlooking the ocean on one side and the valley on the other. Coordinates are: 35.916552, -121.435045. Also did a little write up on it if you want to take a look.

Been there a couple times. Not a secret spot anymore. I watched a video from a guy on youtube last night pleading for people to follow
"leave no trace" principles and bury their shit. Sure was nice when the wilds weren't overrun with biped mouthbreathers who don't give a damn about nature.

Funny you should say that. I camped in Blair Valley Anza Borrego recently and it was the first time I recall seeing a truly trashy site. They obviously had a large gathering and picked up all the larger pieces of trash, but there was small quarter-sized stuff everywhere, half hidden in the sand. I must have picked up 20 pieces of glass from three different types of bottles. What a waste. We have a yearly gathering of 20 or so and the site is always spic and span when we leave.

Anybody have info on Coon Creek yellow post sites? Called the number on the Forest Service website, but nobody answered. Website shows "OPEN", but not sure how often that gets updated.

Any good recommendation for campsites in San Diego hopefully by the beach on the first week of September? Any thoughts or inputs will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I can never get a reservation there, or any other place. Every camp site is months reserved

Mammoth lakes. Lots of campgrounds with showers and bear boxes. Some are 15 mins from beer and McDonald's if you so feel inclined. You can also head to the BLM or National forest land for a more primitive camp ground. Those you will need to bring your own beer and McDonald's.

Hiking, biking, camping, wheeling. It's a mountain biking destination in the summer and skiing mecca in the winter.
Easy to difficult trails, stunning views, people are super cool.

South Lake Tahoe is nice too. Similar to Mammoth but much more populous and commercial.

But right now the Owens Valley area is covered in smoke from fires. All forests are closed currently as well. But in normal times these are good suggestions.

Yes, this is true, but real men don't care if they can't breath, see or possibly be on fire. ;)

Anyone have updates on trails in Big Bear? Any confirmation on trail closures due to recent fires?

I swear I've seen you on all the forum pages and I have a list of all the spots you recommend to people lmao. Do u have any spots in Norcal you like? preferably near the sequoia national park, kings canyon, or Yosemite area. Dispersed camping, good views, anything is appreciated !

I really only spend time in Yosemite up there and I always get spots in either the valley or White Wolf/Tuolumne. I'm not super familiar with the dispersed camping on that side of the Sierra's

By chance would you have an idea of how the weather will be up there in late November early December? I'll check out Tuolumne!

Unfortunately closed. They didn't open this year because of COVID, but you can still drive up there as long as the 120 is open. I've gone at the end of November, but usually the first giant storms hit around Thanksgiving

Depends on the year. In 2011 I climbed on the Meadows on my birthday. Dec 14th. That was a great year. As long as your a climber and not a skier. lol
