    Yep. It is a 4 banger. So it sucks on acceleration. I’ve ok with that. What I am wondering about is there anything in particular I can do to make it accelerate a bit better? I’ve heard cold air intakes allegedly worked on them, but I’ve done reading her and it seems the consensus is it would just make noise. Nothing else. Short of strapping a rocket to the back like Willey Coyote...am I wasting my time?

    Regear it. Or if you haul around a bunch if extra stuff in it. Take it all out. Maybe lighter weight wheels and tires.
    The only thing that will make a substantial difference is a turbo/supercharger or regear

    I can attest the urd sc helps quite a bit, even down low. Drivability is 100% better than before. Gas mileage is about the same, still shitty. Feels similar to a v6 1GR but with just more power up top.

    Couldnt agree more. Dont see more than about 5-6lbs in most driving situations, but the truck is a whole different animal now. Seems like a solid platform to build upon! Im surprised you havent got a little single cab to play with already. Would make for a fun little project truck/daily driver

    Dont blame you there, probably the cheaper alternative vs buying your own lol.

    that is a nice compressor. Im just waiting for the rotrex in my URD kit to take a dump on me, then ill likely be jumping ship and joining the turbo bandwagon:p

    speaking of which, how did you and your friend bypass the blower on his truck? Id kinda like to keep the parts on hand that are needed in case mine craps out on me during a trip. Is it as simple as removing the idlers, changing belts and rerouting the piping with a different silicone fitting?

    A lot cheaper. ;) His is a tax write-off anyway, since it is his work truck. In due time. :D

    I had a few silicone couplings that I used to route around to the intake. The he used an OEM length belt to bypass spinning the blower. Not to sure why the bearings failed on it. Never inspected why. Just needed it running without the blower. It maaaay have been an oiling issue, but I cannot say so with any certainty. Just a guess at this point.

    He already has the same intake components as @05Taco4x4, since he was originally planning on building that engine. It will still be ready when the turbo time comes.

    URD sells or did sell (looks like they're out of stock) a supercharger kit that uses a Rotrex c30-94. Doubles the rear wheel hp of our little 2.7 on stock internals and 93 pump gas. Pretty good little kit
