dude. i absolutely adore those sports in a stealth look. throw a nice at tread patten on there like duratac or go mt like mtr or stt pro. too sweet!

edit: now that i think about it. kinda reminds me of the sport sequoia wheel as picture below. ask me how i know lol. i was wondering why when i saw em stealthed out i was like, "yeah! i like this!"

Man, those look GREAT! I'm seriously contemplating doing this with mine. I like the Sport wheels already, but they really do look great blacked out like that.

Good idea. I didn't care for the original look either when I first brought the truck home, but they actually grew on me too. I just wanted something a lil different than what I see out here on the streets so I figured I'd give it a try in black. The good thing is that nothing is ever permanent. If I ever get tired of them I can always switch em up later on down the road.

Thanks! Yes new tires will eventually come, but I'm probably gonna let these run their course. But I agree. I think a beefier tire would definitely change the look for sure. I like those Sport Sequoia wheels! Very nice...Is that your ride??

Much appreciated! I had contemplated going with a satin, or matte, but since the stock center caps are already gloss black I decided to keep everything uniform. And when they are clean, they look cleeeean. They can look satin after a weeks worth of break dust haha, 2 looks in one :p I'm pretty happy with em.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, it always nice to read everyones comments, suggestions and opinions...

@SoCalSport: yeah. aggressive tread is gonna make those wheels pop for sure. and the pic is a toyota snapshot of their new at the time sport trimmed sequoia. i remember seeing the pics and already knew i was gonna pick one up. then a few months later feeling disenfranchised cause toyota realized they wanted to pro the sequoia lol.

These rims look best IMO when paired with a dark colored truck such as MGM, Black and Cement.

I personally like the older ones better if I was comparing the two. I always do aftermarket wheels so I don't have a dog in the fight lol

I love them, honestly why I bought the 20 Sport 4x4 over the Off-road, only buyers remorse I have is didn't know I didn't get the inclinometer and offroad goodies in my Sport. Regardless of which one I ended up with was going to do the color matched fenders, bumpers, and wanted the scoop. So it made since to get the Sport in Manual so could get the stock 4:30's and the larger 8.75 rear axle, suspension is all getting replaced, ARB dual compressor bed mounted in the cubby, and F&R air lockers. Will be 1.25" spacers and 285's at first on these wheels, the big debate for me is go 5.29's and 315's or just do the 285's and stay with the 4.30's when I do the lockers right now... I did 315's on my v8 4Runner and seriously went from 19 mpg hwy on the 285's to 14 on the 315's, so don't want that big of hit on mileage in the Taco.

nice. theres gotta be a way to get the inclinometer on the sport. i remember back when i had my xrunner, it didnt come with the compass and climate reading, so we all had to find sports or offroads to source the unit and housing and the thermometer sensor you stick in the front lol. i dont see this be that extra but maybe its just a firmware hack and a sensor install. i dunno.

Yeap, I'll be looking and figure out how to do it, just moved and took a new job, have 6 acres now to maintain as well, and took another job but waiting on some clearance stuff to finalize before I start taht one. The one I just took but won't start for a few weeks will be WAY more time and tons of PTO as I get to take all of my 16 years of Military time over to it!!! After I get settled will commence with the mods on the truck, and the Off-road display is one of the things I'll be looking for!

Black out looks good, but regular sport have grown on me.

Had a tire damaged (unrepairable after 13k) yesterday and had shop just throw the spare on. That’s when I learned, unlike my 06sport, the spare on my new taco is a black 16 steelie for temporary use. Ugh. Anyone get a 5th rim/tire before making mods?

still liking the previous sport wheels, simple is my preference! New ones are decent though! Thought about bronze pro wheels though, may still happen!!

I tried to grow to love my '18 sports rims. That attempt at intimacy lasted 200 miles before they came off and went on CL.
If I found my bank account locked and was forced to choose between the two, it would be 2020's, FTW.

‘20 Sport wheels look great, but the center caps are flimsy, fragile and a pain to install without breaking one.

Bump. I found one useful aspect of these that could make them long standing favorites. You can put your feet between the spokes easily and wrench if your truck is lifted. I did a valve cover gasket replace and spark plugs and didn’t need a stool or ladder. Makes a huge difference.

These silver on black factory wheels are everywhere. The Tundras have them, Corollas and many others out there. Not a fan of black wheels, reminds me of a spare tire from yesteryears. It's all about what make you happy.
