After months of abuse, I have finally decided to stop neglecting the truck. Threw a new 3rd member with 5.29s in today, and discovered that my brake shoes are toast, so add that to the list of shit to do before my next trip. Side note, does anyone know if ADD in all of its dark magic will make it so I have no problems driving around in 2wd with 5.29s rear and 3.91s front? If nobody knows for sure I’ll just pull the front drive shaft. It’s gonna be like this for 2 weeks until I go pay @In4aride a visit and steal his front diff

As long as you don’t use 4wd it will be fine. Only one side of the front diff will spin

Who wants to see what happens to your truck when you visit @In4aride and wheel his local “easy” trail?

Not pictured is the fact that I hit the TOP of my slider on a rock. Oh and yeah you’re eyes are showing things correctly, somehow I hit my CARRIER BEARING on a rock. Someone explain that one to me please. When I get home the driveshaft will be getting retubed lol.

Wow you wheel the shit out of your truck. Nice build. Your wheeling places I never thought my truck would go. Guess theses trucks are tougher than I thought. Look at your driveline omg.

I agree. Without all this crap in the back I usually sit a couple inches higher, which might have saved me

I hate that this thread makes me want to jump straight from 33s to 37s.

*edit* saw you relocated the cab mount.

Well the tub job was way more labor intensive and difficult than the cab mount relocation. That one is just cut the old one off and weld the new one in. Probably took me 2 hrs per side (hour 45 of cutting and 15 mins of welding)

For sure. Just wasn't sure if you could get away with a deep CMC to run 37s or if you need to relocate it as well (along with the tub job).

Oh gotcha. You could probably get away with a cmc, but you’d have to replace the bushing with a smaller diameter one and cut all the way to it

Yeah, at that point might as well relocate it. My sliders are welded on and I might have to cut it and relocate the first bar to relocate the cab mount, so I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that. It's just temping to go to 37s when a set of 37" DC extreme countries cost almost the same amount as 35" Goodyear MTRs. Obviously, WAAY more work to be done and more stress on the components with the 35s, but hey go big or go home if you're going to but cutting and tubbing anyway.

It’s all about what you wheel. I don’t need 37s for 99% of what I wheel, but they sure make obstacles easier. There’s a couple lines I’ve taken where I fought with my 35s, but the 37s walked right up. So it’s worth it if you find yourself wishing you had bigger tires

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
you need jd fabs lower mounts. pushes the wheels forward 1" (or whatever distance you want up to 1"). will only need a cmc and avoids relocating.

Pretty much. 35s with a front locker is going to be more useful than 37s without a front locker for the things I do. But i'd like to be able to roll over the rock gardens we have at our local OHV parks. My truck is my semi DD, I work 100% from home now, but before only 50% so I don't put a lot of miles on it. (just broke 30k in the last 4 years).

Stuff like this at Tahuya, in WA.
