SPod or Switch Pro

If you had the option of using either an Spod or Switch Pro which would you choose and why?

 

I recently picked up a Switch Pros unit. I seemed to find more companies/sellers that made products specific to that vs Spod (ex. MESO custom switch panel, SDHQ mounts, etc.) and the price point was decently lower for a pretty comparable output.

 

Seconded. I was thinking of switching to a Bantam after my SP8100 died, but an extra $300 for very little difference was hard to justify.

 

switch pro. its sooo nice, all the features it has and ease of use.

 

I ended up snagging this voswitch for $280. Bleep in Jeep has a video on YouTube going over all the features. Also ended up making my own tray for it to mount on.

interesting, so very similar to the spod setup. how do you like it so far?

 

Couldn’t be happier, especially with the price point. Dont know if you saw that it had strobe, emergency strobe, momentary and other functions.

 

yea, its like a in between of the switch pro and spod at a great price point. uses relays like the spod, but canbus type switch panel like the switch pro.

 

Thank for posting this....can the control panel be mounted flat or do you have to use a ram ball mount?

 

it looks like it can be mounted flat, looks like 2 Phillips head screws holding the ram ball on.

 

Thank you for all of the advice. I ended up purchasing the SwitchPro 9100 from SDHQ. Now if I can only find a 12v ignition accessory wire/fuse to tap into.....

 

I picked up the Voswitch as well. Looking to install this week, but need to figure out mounting points. Smart to make your own mounting tray under the hood. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.

 

I’ve debated this dilemma myself. I had a spod on my Jeep and under the hood was very clean in my opinion compared to the switchpro. That’s the only difference I know of.

 

Nice, I also thought about mounting it on top of the fuse box cove but it was just a little to flimsy for my taste. Excited to see how it turns out for you dude.

 

How is the app support/bluetooth for the Spod vs the 9100? Leaning towards Switch Pros overall, especially because of the price.

 

9100 here-
I haven't had any major issues. Running Android 10. Alot of complaints online but personally haven't had a single issue and I use it regularly for camp lights/ air compressor. Interface isn't fancy but does the job. Range is good enough, haven't had any dropped connections. Pairs and loads in under 5 seconds on average.
I recommend following switchpros instructions for pairing carefully.

App looks like it has at least yearly patches.

To be honest I think spods has better support/app but it wasn't worth an extra 2-300$

 

I build setups/install Switch-Pros. I like the features they come with and how easy it is to adjust each switch settings. Yes the app has a few tweaks but I don’t use it much, just mainly to adjust settings. Been installing them for about a year now and can’t say I’ve heard any complaints about the unit

I'm not sure if anyone has seen or used these, I have not, but it's a wireless switch panel so there's no need to go through the firewall. It's the Trigger 6 Shooter. At $385 it seems like a great alternative.

I personally have not used one of these, but a customer replaced this with a switchpro. Told me he was not a fan since day 1.. said it glitches a lot and sometimes switches wouldn’t work when you really needed them to
