Since I live in Florida I would not buy the injectors from Pembroke Pines Lexus since I would have to pay sales tax. I found another Lexus dealer that will sell them for a lower price and they are not in Florida.

I just talked to Lexus. There are only 13 of these injectors in the country. This particular part number is for a Mark 1 injector. There are Marks 1-8. There are 11 different part numbers based on which Mark # they are. All for the Lexus LS 500 twin turbo 3.5L.

So what we would need to know at this point, what makes it a Mark 1 vs a Mark 8. Is the Mark 8 a different injector, or a newer version? Can we use Mark 2-8 in this application? I would assume that the reason the Mark 1 is not available is because it's no longer being put in the Lexus engine, but honestly I have no idea.

Anyone have any information on this?

I spoke with Lexus yesterday, they said there is up to a mark 9. I assume there is no major differences as they all work on an 18-20 ls500 base or F sport. Based on reading other forums regarding injectors and different mark versions we should be fine with any of the marks since we will be swapping all 6 injectors and they should be the same CC’s. On top of that Mat used Mark 1 and it would only be going up in Marks. I stand corrected

They just sent me another email telling me that they would continue processing this order. I had already ordered from somewhere else and I told them to keep it canceled.
Should I now expect a cancellation from the second place I ordered from?

 

Same here. States they red flagged it due to the sudden amount of orders that came through. They recommended the Mark 6 (ending in 06) and that the only difference is the color (that seems unlikely). They also stated that the Mark 1's would have to come out of Japan and take 6-8 weeks if I still wanted them.

If you ordered the same Mark 1 part number from somewhere else, then yes it will be cancelled as well since there is a complete lack of them in the US.

I think our best option is to figure out (for certain) if one of the other in the series will work and order them instead.

 

I just talked to Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys. They are who I ordered from the second time. They said that they are having it shipped from Phoenix to them and then they will ship it to me in Texas. They will let me know if anything changes.
I'm calling the Lexus in Pembroke now to make sure I don't end up with 12 of these injectors.

 

I don’t think it should. My transaction got refunded right away since I use Apple Pay/card. Shows everything listed and cancelled by vendor. My 2nd order was flagged and I had to verify it. I tried my 3rd order through MYLPARTS.com and it went through using code CL5 for 10% off. Seems Lexus forum uses them quite often. Hopefully no cancellation here yet but if it does then I’ll try a different mark as mentioned.

 

I bet the Pembroke Lexus loves us right now. 25 guys all trying to order the same injectors at the same time. I am waiting for Jose to call me back. He said he talked to someone about it already so he's tracking why everyone was ordering them. I'm going to see if he can get more information about the differences in these parts and get to the bottom of this. Maybe get one of his techs to look it up in the service manual.

Before I make a $1700 mistake I'd like to be 100% certain any of these other injectors will suffice.

I linked the mark 1s because I've seen the newer ones were considerably more expensive ($290 vs 400+ each)
But if you can get newer mark version for same price it will work fine.

I called Pembroke and also advised me that there are different versions (Mark) of the same injector. They confirmed multiple times with their techs that all of the injectors with part number 23209-70130-01, 23209-70130-02, 23209-70130-03, 23209-70130-04...up to -09 all function exactly the same and can be used in the LS500 3.5TT. Seems a little odd but they claimed that the only differences bw the injectors are the COLOR???

Anyway, I told him to process my order with the 23209-70130-06 injectors since they were able to source them immediately since the -01 injectors were already sold.

Hopefully Mat can chime in whether these injectors will work.

Since I personally tested the Mark1s,
I'll buy the mark 9s or 6s and verify.
That way if they don't work I'll eat the cost and none of you guys. Since they cannot be returned.

I'll buy them now.


Lexus doesn't publish the data, but if I had to *guess* they have been updated for better cold start performance, because the first "LS500s that hit dealer lots had cold start problems.



Honestly the only reason I linked mark 1s is because the site I used had mark 2+ at $400+ each

 

Okay I ordered a set of Mark 9s. They will be here Aug 8th.
I'll verify fitment.
I am 100% confident they will work, but still verify.
