New front door. Still waiting on storm door and planning on painting the door black this weekend to match the roof and shutters. Tomorrow the guy is flooring half the house. Friday is a new back door.

Lots of changes since I last posted here: I had shown some pictures of the outside of the house and the major stair reframing. I have 75% of the siding complete (waiting on the electrical mast upgrade before I can finish that side of the house)

Inside is all wired, drywalled and painted white. Not to many pictures of that, only taped and mudded drywall shots, none of the sexy looking painted walls haha

Took a week of vacation at work to fast track some work in the bathroom, and here is the tiled shower I just did:

Now time to grout it, install the fixtures, and shower door! Then on to tiling the floor and fabricating a custom floating double vanity with center tower

Question for you all, mainly if you've had your windows replaced.

We have Window World replacing our windows. 17 Windows. They were scheduled to start yesterday, with an arrival of 12-2pm.

Of course, they show up at 2. They get 6 windows "in" but not completed, and at 5pm they say they are leaving and will be back today. So that's a 2nd day we have to accommodate that we weren't informed of.

On top of that, the sales rep measured 3 windows wrong, and we have to wait 2-3 weeks for those to be ordered and come in for install. Then all of this fiasco again.

My question. Is any compensation possible, or expected do you guys think? I mean this is 3+ days we have to do something to work around this, and the crew yesterday even said "idk why they schedule 17 windows for an afternoon appointment we can't finish that many" but it was never communicated to us it would take more than a day.

am I just SOL and put up with it, or do I have any chance at some sort of compensation like a discount?

The crew is correct. There's not a man hour/labor breakdown anywhere in that estimate?

    there is not.

and we had a couple friends have theirs replaced not a month ago, maybe 13-14 windows I think, and their crew stayed till the job was done not just till 5pm.

17 windows pulled and replaced in a day is a big ask. I wouldn't give you any discount for it taking 2 days. I would ask them about the 3 incorrect windows and see if they are willing to work with you on those.

Yeah I agree, it's a big ask. The customer service rep I spoke with said the crews can usually do 20-25 windows in a day, so I was like "uh why did you schedule 17 in 3 hours then?"

If they had let us know it would take multiple days it would've been fine.

The 3 windows is definitely the bigger issue since I already know that's going to take 2-3 weeks for the windows to come in, then who knows how long for them to schedule us.

Is it possible to buy "off cuts" of drywall? Previous owners of my house cut out a 24x30" section of drywall in a bathroom- and hung up a medicine cabinet to hide it. I have no real use for a whole sheet of it. Figured I'd ask here.

Go find a construction site that is doing drywall and ask them for a scrap piece.

You said the magic word. Salesman. They ate only concerned about their commission the customer is at the bottom of their list.
They fear that telling the truth will give their competitors an edge. The last company I worked for (they bought my employer). Lied to the newly acquired employees multiple times in our first meeting. Their whole sales campaign was based on deceit.

I haven't found any that were hanging drywall at the time yet.
I'll try the orange box. Blue box shut me down.

We’ve got a few used building material outfits here. Habitat for Humanity is one of ‘em. Picked up some really good quality windows ‘n Doors there. Last time I was there, they had drywall too. Might try that.
