I've ran a lot of exhausts on my vehicles throughout my time as a tech, which has been some 15 years... Here's what I found:

Chokemaster causes a slight loss of power, but sounds mean due to that chambered design. Has a tendency to drone, however.

Borla sucks on the count that it is way too quiet, but tends to give off a sort of exotic sound to it.

I enjoyed Corsa when I had it and ultimately it was the final exhaust which I used on my muscle car. Cannot say what it would sound like on a Japanese vehicle like the Tacoma though.

Dynomax has a great tone to it, but is drony as well.

Any bullet style muffler opens the door to excessively loud sound. If you get a muffler which has an integrated resonator to it, it will tone things down considerably and make the exhaust bearable. The longer the bullet muffler/ resonator combo the more toned down the sound will be and the less chances you will open up the door for drone.

Consider something like Aero Turbine 2525XL (what used to be called Aero Turbine)

Black Widow Venom 250 series has a nice growl to it, think TRD catback, but slightly louder I would say, and surprisingly despite it's peculiar but highly effective hourglass internal design, it does not drone at all.

Their bullet style Widowmaker series does NOT come with a resonator and is only 10" long so be prepared to accept the fact that installing a muffler like that will make the exhaust loud.

Dump offs is sort of ghetto IMO and you are just opening the door to welcome in drone due to relocating the exit of the exhaust to the floor immediately below your cab area.

An X pipe will change the tone of a vehicle to give off an exotic sound, and an H will give a more aggressive sound over the X. Both offer structural rigidity if going true dual exhaust. However, being that this truck is limited on space for exhaust piping, I advice sticking to one, especially if you wheel due to ground clearance purposes.

Regardless, the bet move is to keep the muffler as far away from the exit as possible for drone reasons, the OE location has picked a great spot for doing so, and it would be wise you keep the exhaust that way if sticking to one muffler setup. If going two, keep the muffler in that same general distance as well for the other pipe.

I hope this has helped, even a little bit. I have posted a video in various other exhaust threads very recently for the Black Widow 250 Venom muffler on my own truck. If you want me to post it in here, I can. I just don't want to spam the forum with the video, as I've already posted it in some 4 different threads already. Lol.

It appears to be rerouted after the transfer case, if you have one.
It just goes beyond the transmission and collects before the drive shafts sub-frame crossmember.

It is 2.25" to 2.5" which is more appealing to me than URD's 2.5" to 3.0", it is just so ricey once the engine changes to a more aggressive profile around the 3k range.

Down low it sounds great, but the rice and the fact that it hits my frame is a big disappointment.

Like it was never built without addressing the difference in the frame between a 2WD and 4x4.
No mention of it on their site either, just that their may be issues if you have a crazy lift on a 4x4.

AFE though has not responded to my email for about a month already... So I am not sure how I would approach this.

never understood putting aftermarket exhaust on slow trucks. personally i prefer enjoying nature or daily driving without the "sporty/rice" sound. what's the hp gain? 5+hp at what cost?

    if you're SC then that's a different story =D

The price that the Corsa costs for the quality is just not there.

For the price it costs is needs to have v-bands or flanges, not slip together fittings

That would be nice but it is still the best sounding in my opinion.

    Maybe mod your stock exhaust?

Using a piece of the cut section or getting a nicer mandrel bend is recommended.

This was temporary because trying to expand the heavy gauge at home was a fail.

Spintech mufflers are super low profile and if you replace your OE unit you may get a bit more clearance. but if you want to get real clearance you'll need to reroute. then a low pro muffler can be something.

still think fm super 44s sound the best on toyota trucks. although, i been meaning to try something new, and heard a couple clips of black widow coupled with the urd ypipe, and gotta admit, it sounds pretty sweet.

that was the worst for me(muffler only) and many others, sounded like the exhaust fell off, I had it about a day and put the stock right back on. I remember pulling up in our driveway, came inside and the wife said "what was that awful sound, it wasn't your new truck was it " hahahaha!

They all sound OK at best and are overpriced for virtually no gains.

My wife and neighbor said that when if first put an exhaust on our saab back in the day. Now, we've moved and sold it to a current neighbor. We both enjoy hearing it fire up. I rarely had the radio on in that car. Enjoyed hearing the spool and exhaust. Great motor with the power just going to the wrong end.

i lucked out when I did it, the muffler shop tech said...what are you doing with this one after I put the stock back on, I said beating it with a hammer :D he laughed and said, how much you want for it, lost a few bucks but sold it to him right there.
