Keep radio on after turning off vehicle?

Yep, mine stays on when i turn the truck off. Didnt know that in ATs the radio turns off when you turn off your engine, strange.

Cut grey wire(ACC1 pin 15) and run new wire from DRL or Low beam.set lights timer to 0 min.Works

 

Tying into Interior Light circuit gets you 20 min ON after all off.
IN1_19 is behind Driver's side sail panel.

As long as you stay inside -never goes off

Push the button while still in gear and then put it in park. Learned that from our 2015 Rav.

Why, what, how….does this matter? Stop, turn off the truck, get out and go about your business. If you want to sit in your truck with the motor turned off and listen to the radio push the button and go to the accessory mode.

■ Auto power off function

If the vehicle is left in ACCESSORY mode for more than 20 minutes or IGNI- TION ON mode (the engine is not running) for more than an hour with the shift lever in P, the engine switch will automatically turn off. However, this function cannot entirely prevent battery discharge. Do not leave the vehicle with the engine switch in ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode for long peri- ods of time when the engine is not running.

This will allow you to set the time that the stereo stays on after the ignition is turned off, from 1 to 59 minutes. It will turn the stereo off when the door is opened. But, you need to grab the ground trigger at the door (or in the kick panel at least). The ground trigger on the cargo switch won’t work as it is a floating ground, not a true ground trigger. Besides the ground trigger, you should be able to grab everything needed from the headunit wiring.

 

Put it in Neutral, shut off engine, then put it in park. If your staying in the truck longer, then skip step 3.

 

Your listening to a song, news or whatever and you just shut down you lose 20 or more seconds for
the Toyota declaimer screens to go away before you hear your station again That's why.

 

Don’t shut down…idle if it’s so important. Simple solution for a non-complex problem.
