At what point were they off of a forest service road? Off-roading? Definitely a 2WD excursion.

Actually the Sprinter did pretty well... once he turned off his traction control. hahaha at one point he was mashing the gas and it wasnt moving because of the computers

I dont think 2wd could get there... this road is actually pretty tame as far as off roading trails are concerned but there are 3 sections that are a bit gnarly. especially since the rainy season washed away parts of the trail itself

Yeah I agree. That road definitely isn't 2WD appropriate. I'm sure you could make it but you would trash the road getting there. I've seen a Subaru forester with AT tires up there but that's as low ground clearance as I would feel confident taking.

Oh that's interesting. I helped one of those get unstuck once. It was on the side of a dirt road, which was off-camber but nothing crazy, and it had its driver side wheels on some roots, but nothing that severe. He couldn't get any traction to get it onto the road. He was getting frustrated asking if I had any advice and I said let's just give it a push and see if that gets it going. That worked a treat but it didn't give me much confidence in the capabilities of those thing. Maybe he was fighting the traction control though.

Subaru's AWD system is great for snow but terrible off road. You have to stay on the gas to get the AWD clutch to engage to get real power to the back wheels. Once I saw an Outback do just that, he had it floored for several seconds, the car wasn't moving, smoke started pouring out, and then finally something engaged and the car lurched forward.

Not everyone takes their trucks to the max. It’s nice to have more than you need. I like that my trucks gets me where I want to go I’ve had crawl control get me out of one situation but it’s nice I can comfortably go where I want

Nice video. Ahh yes Leavitt Lake. Still a hidden gem that most can’t camp at because they can’t get there lol. I love it there. And no, a 2wd can’t make it there as others have suggested. Here’s some of my pictures when I was there. So much fun up there. Take care op and again awesome video!!
