Is there any shop or person in Los Angeles area (Torrance) that can install the software in my truck if I buy Vforest software and I pay them to install for me?

Depending on what part of PA / your willingness to travel, you can meet up with @lapoltba in CT

    35 mins southeast of Philadelphia.
Where exactly in CT? I may be heading up to Vermont for Labor Day weekend so see see.

If I was on Cape Cod this week, I would have meet up with you and Lapolta on my way home.

    this and that...
for someone whos been thinking about getting ovt for a hot minute, im looking for a straight up answer from the mt crowd. i recently came across a sprint booster for a steal of a deal that i wasnt gonna pass up, and for all intents and purposes the component is badass. the throttle lag is gone which was my biggest gripe about the truck. along with that the truck has an sb intake, urd mk2 ypipe, 2020 pro exhaust, and a modified core/hurst shifter. i have no armor and my wheels and tire setup is fairly light (trails on 265/70/17 sl-rated.) for a truck, i feel its pretty quick. i had two tacos before this, both modified and this one is easier quicker. also had a tuned and deleted superduty with the scorpion powerstroke and that thing blitzed like a bat outta hell; i still think this tacoma is quick for what it is. my questions is this, what exactly can i expect from ovt if sb alleviated the throttle issue i had? other than that i really have no qualms driving the truck. its definately not the slug it was when i first bought it. if ovt gives me more broader usable power im all for it, but if after i install it im asking myself "what is this" then i dunno. a lot of comments i read it mostly addresses how the trucks shifts, throttle response, and maybe mpg. not too much usable torque and hp, even though the graphs are present, if that makes sense. going boosted is definately down the line. thinking magnuson, but a tune from ovt could tide me over for a bit if the consensus feels its worth it. what do you think?

I wouldn’t drive my MT without the tune. It’s a huge difference and is immediately noticeable.

it’ll fix the weird quirks and unpredictability in addition to much more power in the 0-3000 rpm range.

i have my truck setup in a similar way in that i run light and like to be quick and light on my feet. I've gone to great lengths to find this package's natural zone, because that's where you find the right throttle control... it's where everything comes together from power to clutch grab to traction to tire size & gearing etc etc.

so the answer is yes 100% in my MT world like pretty much all the MTs looking to optimize the hardware package they bought. i started with a Pedal Commander on ECU 04B12. before the PC i planned to sell the truck because the tune was actually that bad for a MT driver. the PC saved me so i give it credit. but it wasn't direct, powerful, or easy to modulate.

I've been on all the OV tunes since the first one 3 years ago and I'm telling you getting 2.0 SFOB on your truck will be a game changer.

long post and you can PM me for more info, but with all the work you've done you are right around the corner from much bigger things if you change out your muffler. the one you have may sound pretty good but it's by far the most restrictive part of the OE exhaust. go media-less for gains in power and throttle dynamics. good luck.

Is the Lexus RC 350F same engine? If so, should be able to get 311 hp out of it.

There’s a couple vehicles with the same (or close to it) 3.5. There’s a long discussion in one of the other threads. The other thing to keep in mind is the power curves. They are making that 311 up high in the rpm band.

@Shellshock, @subrat: thats awesome, well thats that brothers lol. yeah if you guys probably guessed, i like to be nimble. i actually remember my old 2013 4runner, i mean it wasnt the heaviest thing, but it did have a full icon suspension (sitting at ~4" of lift) and some obese (lol) 20x10 fuel kranks on 275/55/20 (e-rated.) jeezus, the truck was an absolute slug. i hated it when we had to do any sort of long distance driving. but hey...it looked good! i told myself, never again. and for the record guys, im not treating it like a race truck, i just love the light-on-the-feet feeling, meaning if i press the gas, i want to giddyup!

These trucks are a lot of fun if you don’t slap 2000 lbs of unnecessary crap on them. I have more fun in this truck than in some of the cars I’ve had.
