Ended up doing some trouble shooting on my current brake light switch and concluded that is was engaging. Took a different route and ended up fixing all 3 issues. Dash lights, all three taillights, and shifter lock.

Discovered 2 blown fuses. Both TAIL A10 in engine bay and STOP A10 in mini panel located in cab. Continued to blow new fuses so I hunted down the short. It turned out to be the busted brake light bulb that was shorting out in the bulb housing. (Remember the one we were messing with on the trail @Titus94?)

Ended up fixing the short and getting some new A10s and some bulbs and everything was back to normal. Dash lights, brake lights, and the shifter was free to operate as normal.

now just gotta add some fluids that I lost with caps coming off and I’m back on the road.

Yeah for sure. The tail light fuse must have some relation to the shifter somehow. Draws power from the same source or something. As soon as the short was eliminated and the fuses were in the shifter was good as new.

I mean it works, and if its a street truck too itll free up some bed space by allowing you to take the tire out of the bed. I may be interested in the hanger assembly once you ditch it...

i wasnt going to run it there but once my frame boxing project fell through i had the put the cross brace/spare tire mount back in, figured i might as well throw the spare back in at that point.

    what hanger? spare tire?

Love the look of that cage! Looking sick brother. I wish I didn't have a wheelchair! LOLLLLLLLLLLLL I could never run a set up like that with the spare right there. Sucks because it looks sickest like that and I need the weight of my spare further back. O well. Truck is looking CLEAN

You are at leasst the 4th person in the last month that has had this issue including myself. Mine was a brake light wire behind the passenger tail light that was chaffed and shorting out intermittingly blowing the Stop a10 fuse. My buddy had the same issue but it was a chaffed wire in the trailer harness he never uses. The other one I know of has not gotten back to what his fix was. Crazy shit chasing electrical problems though.

3 fins stripped near the bottom and the whistle is gone. No more alien invasion on night rides. :alien:

the 1/8” stripping fits super clean. Had no problem getting my cover on it.

Anybody know who makes the bolt on“engine cage” for the first gen? More of a support than an engine cage. Bolts directly to the crown of the shock towers and bends over the engine.

    Is it solo?

I recall it not being an advertised product. You had to email and request it.

if anyone can drop some info I’d appreciate it. I know I saw it talked about in someone’s build thread. Just can’t remember.
