I have successfully used the following headunits:
    Dasita PX5
    Dasita PX5
    Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX

All have worked flawlessly with my 2018 backup camera, and the Backup Camera Anytime mod (which adds a front camera).

The best sounding unit is the Pioneer, by far. The most functional unit is the PX6. If you have deeper questions, drop me a PM

@svermilyea when I first read this I didn't recognize your username. Circled back to this today and happily recognized you as having helped me out before.

I've been a little unhappy with how many times I've extracted my pioneer mic from the factory location where I've snuggled it into a foam bed.
So I started thinking I might try to employ a microphone extension cable so I can keep the microphone intact when I remove the console.

This mic is roughly $40 shipped so I'd consider it more strongly if it has a connector which I might be able to add a short pigtail for? I was even thinking how cool it'd be to have some way to shove matching connectors into unused spots on the 24 pin connector so that the overhead could be removed with just the single connector...

I don't suppose you have any additional photos of the microphone pre-install? Do you remember if the cable is soldered directly or is removable via connector at the microphone side?

The microphone cable was soldered directly to the microphone. The cable is roughly 8 feet long, terminated in a mono 3.5mm plug. If you are plugging it into a WC6600, you will need a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter.

Just as a note for everybody else watching on here. Ordered that mic last night and this morning someone from enfig called me, asking if I was interested in the tacoma specific model. I of course said yes. He said that with the adapter that it was the same price, and he just recently started making them due to some interest, and I believe that it was mainly from this site. The reason he knew that I had a tacoma was that I put in the "Where did you learn about us" box, tacomaworld.com (That's probably the only time I've ever seen that box used for anything). He told me my order would be in the mail for pickup by the mailman tomorrow morning.

The guy over there told me that it is currently unlisted, and will be listed once their web guy finishes up with his site redesign. I asked him how others can get it right now and he said that people should call at the phone number listed on their contact page, and he'd be glad to help. https://enfigcarstereo.com/contact.html

Overall, great experience with them over there, and even though it is a 3d printed part, I'm glad to support a company based in the USA.

I will upload photos of the new housing and packaging once I receive them.

    Seems it’s been formally listed:
    https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/product/enfig-mic-toy1/

So, question, does this work in the mic location in the center console? I think Toyota moved it in 2019 to be directly over the driver seat.

Looks like they did. Too bad the drop down on the website doesn't even have a toyota section. I have a 2016, so mine is going to be in the overhead console.
I'm still doing my cross-country trip, and I haven't hit my friend in Indiana yet, who I had the mic sent to and plan on doing the install work with. I plan on taking photos when I finally get it, along with measuring it so you all can make your own judgements about what will fit and what won't.

Went ahead and purchased the 2019 microphone case this morning. Rather than taking the mic out of the headliner, I’ll use it for dimensions and then reach out to enfig to see if the VW or Tacoma mic will work.

This is the one in black. Gray has a different part number.

    https://parts.walkertoyota.com/p/To...PHONE---NO-1-BLACK/72178114/8625578010C0.html

Edit: Another guy on here said the space for a microphone in the center console is still there in the 2019s and sits empty, so the enfig mic would still work there, but my mic location is really close to the A pillar, so that seems like it would be an easier install.

Oh yeah, in the A Pillar would definitely be easier, but I remember somebody on here sayin that they got less road noise by putting it in the overhead console location. I currently have no clue how I'm going to put it in the headliner, but I'll figure it out as I go.

Got the mic, installed the head unit, but couldn't install the mic in time. It is just chilling on top of my dash for now, but I did take some photos for you all. I'll finish the install after my cross country.

Just got around to installing the mic in the proper location. It actually snaps into the OEM mic clip holes. Very secure, and takes up the whole hole from the OEM mic. Just have to route the cable, and I'm done.

Does it have any connector? Or just a long hard line to 3.5mm Jack?

No connector there, just a long 3.5 connected to a 2.5 adapter connected to the head unit. I left a bunch of slack in the headliner to make removal of that panel easier. I faced the microphone towards me for audio reasons.

EDIT: Did a phone call with the wife and she said that audio quality from this mic is even better than the oem.

How'd you get the anytime front and back camera mod with switch to work with your aftermarket android head unit?

The harness order is critical. OEM harness, GERMS harness, then radio harness. The GERMS controller will work as it did with the factory head unit.

If you are not using a GERMS controller, the harness order is the same as above, for your anytime switch.

Note: Both of my Android head units (PX5 and PX6) had the option to run the cameras direct from the head unit. I actually had to do that for a time, as my GERMS controller died and had to be replaced.

Sorry, i'm not familiar with the acronym. What is a GERMS harness? Is it linked below?

GERMS Labs Controller (This is an aftermarket controller that replaces the ANY TIME physical switch with a controller that allows you to use your steering wheel buttons). The key is to ensure that your camera controller harness is plugged into the OEM harness before the control unit for the PX5/PX6.
