Full disclaimer. You ruin your truck its on you. If you don't feel like reading, the install video is down at the bottom.

I need to give a couple huge thank yous to @splitbolt , @davidstacoma , and @SmileyGuy . These nefarious dudes came through with some help and much needed info like color diagrams/manuals and some confidence.

Ok, with that out of the way down to the meat and tators-

I have been searching for a way to change the direction in which S mode shifts.
I want it to shift up when I pull back and shift down when I push forward. Just seems more natural to shift with momentum, and I feel as though it will make driving in S Mode just a bit more fun.

So here is what I did. First I started with this diagram hi-lighting the T23 connection
which controls the up shift and down shift at the transmission floor shift assembly. According to the diagram Red Wire 1 is downshift, Green wire 3 is upshift. Therefore switching the wires will in fact change the direction of the shift.

    S mode shift diagram.jpg

After locating the T23 switch here at the center console. t23 switch.jpg

Pull the clip and switch. Here is what you should be looking at.
    wiring3.jpg

Before you pull the wires out, there is a small clip on the under side of the connector which needs to come off here-
    wire cap.jpg

Once that is off I used a terminal tool, be careful they are sharp. This is a huge set.

    Wires Free.jpg

Switch the red and the green wires.

Red wire goes to spot 3.
Green wire goes to spot 1. put the wire cap back on. Make sure the wires are all the way in and tight.
    cover on .jpg

Plug everything back in and enjoy your new shift directions.

This is my first write up so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Good write up, thanks. I was reading the other thread on you getting this all worked out. I would probably call this the s-mode inverted control mod.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Surely deserves an honorable mention at one of the many "stickies". Nice job getting it figured out. Maybe you can partner with @MESO on doing paddle-shifters. At least 50hp more once you install those.

This has always bothered me and I'm going to do this mod even though I'll probably never use S mode. Thanks for doing the write up!

Any chance we can flip around the + and - on the shifter? Looks like the PRNDS legend is all one piece so probably not very easily.

Awesome, was following the other thread on this also. Great install vid.

Now if only we can cover up the PRNDS panel. I can already see what gear I am in, in the dash, so I don't need the one by the shifter.

Anyone want to make a shift boot that extends over the panel? :spending:

I immediately started thinking how to change the + an - on the shifter. It is all one piece. Maybe someone with a 3D printer would be able to whip up a complete new panel with some customizable options.

As soon as I popped it up a little it came right off easy with no force and undamaged. It might be due to being a single stack of pins vs a double stack of pins as shown in the diagram.
Either way, thanks for the heads up.

The smaller connectors aren't really meant to be disassembled n assembled again, they usually fail.

Can’t help on making the top panel display, but we added the harness to our site for anyone that doesn’t want to repin their factory harness. :bananadance:
