    Hey everyone,

has anyone ordered direct from Motorsport-tech for BORA or stahl wheel spacers?

I ordered a set a couple weeks ago to space out my rear wheels to maximize space for a bypass set up and also match the width for the front baja kits (1.5 inch spacer)

I never heard anything other than the initial “we got your order, don’t contact us, we will contact you when they ship”

then I didn’t hear anything for a while and when I went to their website to see if they had a estimated shipping time, their website was down.

so I found an email address from a reply to a aluminum vs steel question I had and sent out an update request.

I received back an “our system crashed and I’ll put you on a list to check up on”... and “4-6 weeks” with another “don’t email us until we contact you”...

awesome. So I’m not entirely sure I would have gotten on the “list” to receive the ordered product if I hadn’t emailed....

and now it’s “wait as fast as you can and don’t contact us”...

So has anyone else ordered from them in the last 2 months? Is this normal and did you receive your parts?

I ordered a set for my son's 4runner on 6/26..... they have an automated response that states not to follow up for 15 days, they are running slow due to Covid, etc.... I emailed an inquiry today as when to expect them, received a response right away that lead time is 6 weeks from time of order..... so sounds like 2 more weeks....

Oddly coincidental, I just got another email this morning from them.

two more weeks out... because they are “moving”. So they hope to start production again Monday.

I just ordered a set of Bora wheel spacers from Motorsport-tech, and it seems they’re pretty much the only place to get them from especially if you’re looking for sizes other than 1.25.

Bora wheel spacers are top quality products, and highly sought after. Definitely worth the wait.

Anybody receive their product that was ordered within the last two months? There are a few places in the US making cnc spacers from billet and using 8 and 10.2 studs. But holy smokes I just went to their facebook page and read their reviews. It appears that huge delays is the norm followed by if you ask too many questions they cancel your order.

I have had to have the shipping address changed because they are so behind schedule and instead of being shipped to the shop, I emailed them a little over a week ago to have them shipped to my house so I didnt have to pay for them to be shipped from the fabricators shop once my truck was back home.

No new eta in his response. But almost a month ago it was a 2 week eta... So many reviews on their FB page citing multiple month waits and then a bunch citing incorrect hardware and the headaches getting it corrected.

Fingers crossed that I get a shipping notification and then the correct parts show... but wondering, anyone else getting theirs recently?

I ordered 6/26 I believe.... see my response above....

This past Monday I got an email from Jr, the Fedex # was created .... tracked it today and they have been shipped...looks like mine are due to arrive 8/18... crossing fingers.

I don't know their story, but the Covid hasn't affected my work as far as production goes.... we are an engineering company with an in house machining facility. Haven't had any issue getting steel/aluminum etc.... but like I said I don't know how they have been affected as I know nothing about their business....but I am thinking I need to start producing wheel spacers as I see there is a demand...lol

I had to type a quick response which I will leave below. My point was about the separate subject of “is the COVID a really Excuse”...
no idea if it has effected bora. I don’t see how you can be a small family run business and then say COVID has made people not show up. So I doubt that has anything to do with their timeline. It most certainly has to do with the computer crash and them moving. But it also seems like they are often far behind target.

so again. Hopefully I’ll get a notification soon!

    ————————————————

A friend of mine owns a few manufacturing companies. Over a hundred cnc machines etc. everything from a firearms company to large tv’s for resorts etc.

He says the “increase in price of steel/aluminum” is a farse to give an excuse for price increases. But sometimes it’s the suppliers making that lie.

I have zero idea why COVID would lengthen machining time. It seems to be the go to excuse for reduction in customer service or contract targeting....

but I wish I could get an eta. Hopefully soon. There’s was a computer shut down and then a move. Nothing to do with COVID or material
Pricing... so fingers crossed something soon ish

Well it could be they make them as they go, and may rely on outside venders for wheel studs, aluminum, anodizing.....and even the actual machining...add those up and long lead times would make sense...

I would love some .75" spacers but I have read their site and the excuses they make about Covid 19 and lead time and slow yada yada yada and have decided I don't really need them that bad.

Can't stand when businesses don't have their shit together and then blame a pandemic. Just come out and say, hey guys, we are really super slow and you won't get anything you order for at least two months.

    I could respect that.

There is a confirmation email from the 27th I believe. There is order date and then email confirmation date...

so maybe that means I’m in the next round of
Manufacturing... I had a few hiccups today and contacting them was on the absolute bottom of the list so it didn’t happen.

wednesday I’m free so maybe I’ll wait until then

I ordered from them back in April. It took about 4-5 weeks. I did contact them and they did not respond. I am happy with what I received. High quality part.

Bora wheels spacers are a great product. We've been a dealer of theirs for quite some time. They did just move to a larger facility. The move set them back a bit too, but hopefully a larger space will help speed up build/delivery time frames.

Contacted them today to see what’s up. They said they are at anodizing... then a while later I got a FedEx tracking, but label not in system yet so it may still be a bit. But at least the light is at the end of the tunnel.

sadly, with baja kits screwing me on the shocks... I’m going to sell their kit and zona is making a long travel set up that is probably a bit wider... so there may be too skinny...
    Lol. It never ends

I just received my BORA spacers today, and as I expected the craftsmanship is a top notch. It took 2 months to received them but I don’t see any other option if 0.75 is what you need. Definitely worth the wait.

I put 1" Bora spacers on my 2019. Frankly I like the way it handles, better than stock. I was expecting either worse or no change. Bora spacers are very well made. I used nickel antisieze between the hub and the spacer and torqued to 85 ft/lbs.

They say to check the torque after driving, which of course is a PITA, so I put it off for a week. No detectable loosening.

I bought some bora spacers on this site and they’re new. They don’t have the white bora logo on the side but it has a MTBORA stamping on the bottom. Are these real boras? When did bora start the white logo on the side?

How have they been since? Have you noticed any loosening of the lug nuts in between torque checks? Did you have to trim the OE studs due to the spacer being only 1” thick?

I ordered 15mm slide-on spacers from BORA. Now I’m on the fence between these or 1” bolt-on (BORA as well). Anyway, on my slide-on there is no writing anywhere, just that stamping in the picture I added here. They ARE BORA’s though.

All very good. In fact RECOMMENDED. No trimming was necessary, no loosening.
