My Riseman has been the EDC for about 8 years minus the random days that warrant something nicer like my TAG or Tissot. The band however was showing some age and the keeper had some cracks that were going to go at any time. I ordered a new band and it came in today. I immediately took the old one off and was disgusted by what lay below.

Seeing this I couldn't just toss the new one on and call it a day...

Along the way the sensor got peeled up with the grime so I'll have to send it off for repair after all.

I say this to heed warning to all the other watch enthusiasts out there... Damn I'm glad this was on a budget g shock and not something nicer. Don't wear your watches gardening, washing the dog or dishes, etc unless they are specific to that use and kind of wear. If you do take them to a jeweler and have them cleaned a bit more regularly.

This ‘Ol girl weathered my Oil Patch days & much much more. Regular checkups from my neighbourhood German watchmaker were often met with unusual words that the Man wouldn’t repeat. He’s gone now but like a good Dentist, his meticulous attention to detail still lives on.

I fell ya. I go larger. I like the extra room more than a tight band. Try Strapcode.com I've bought bands from them in the past, great selection and quality.

I'm actually looking for a Paracord band with a hidden knife buckle for my Samsung Galaxy watch. Sportsman Guide has a complete watch like this so I may have to just buy it and see if I can swap mine with the one there.

I actually dug deeper and I can buy this buckle/knife, and a lot of variations like it. I even found Lug connectors that are drilled to attach paracord. I just need to learn how to make my own paracord band.

I've seen videos. It doesn't look that hard. The last time I looked, a decent set (4) of Prinsu grab handles was $64. (+ shipping). I don't have a clue what it costs to make these things vs buying them.

Stopped by the local watch shop for some battery replacements today. Thanks @Husky Driver

Nice to get some old cheap watches back to wearable again.

I also was pleasantly surprised to see the original g shock app for the Bluetooth model I picked up here from @Ostrichsak is working with my phone still. When I first got it the app was spotty then it quit working altogether then Casio fixed it again. Seems as though their new models run a new app though so this one is not for long I'd bet on newest phones
