    Hi everyone!

We just got the new 2020 Tacoma and that beeping was driving my husband and I nuts, I couldn't find anywhere online showing how to disassemble it so I dug in myself. It is actually quite simple, I did a video to show how to get ride of it. It can be reversed if you keep a certain piece, which you will see in the video. This should also get rid of the seat belt beep as well. Also lastly, we went to the dealership first, they acted dumb like we were asking a quadratic formula question and gave us the we can't do it. Good luck!

Nice. So just disables the chime but no seatbelt light or any potential issues with airbags deploying in the event of an accident?

This is one way of doing it! I might have to do this. Did you have to remove the trim around the head unit to remove the dash pieces? Thanks

I hope this pic shows what I removed, but where the audio system is I removed that, super easy just clipped on, then where the odometer is, same just clipped on. For that piece you have to maneuver it around the steering wheel not hard. Then there are four screws to unscrew. I did not detach any of the wires, I unscrewed the other part with them attached. Once it's all unscrewed you can easily access the speaker and pop it off and take out that flat piece I showed in the video and that is it! Put back together, snap back in and good to go!

    Hi slowlane,

Took me 15 min to take apart and that is figuring out what to do, I'm pretty cauious. Then outing back together. So 30 min, not bad. I did it for my husband, the noise drove him nuts I could live with it, it is annoying. This is for those who don't like the beep, it's worth it for them, obviously not you.

I do not know what that is, when I was looking online I saw that, but saw people mentioning they didn't know if it worked for this year. It really wasn't much work at all.

I wanted to do an update. The blinker doesn't make noise and the button on the steering wheel that makes noise when you drift into another lane doesn't work. But that's it, I didn't use that feature and happy the blinker is silent.

My dealership turned off my seat belt chime. Some will, some won't.

TechStream is linked in my signature. You will need a USB adapter to connect. The Tactrix brand is highly recommended.

The Carista app and a BT adapter will also work.

Otherwise if you want to permanently delete it, the speaker is on the back of the instrument cluster. Very easy to remove. Look for the Taco Truck easter egg while you are in there.

Techstream is extremely important to have, but I prefer to physically remove the speaker like I've done to all my cars, Japanese or German. Question: what annoys me the most is the chime when leaving the key inserted while the truck is off and you open the door. I assume this will take care of that too.
