Have had my check engine light and trac off lights been going off for the last couple months or so. Did the whole disconnect battery a couple of times but they would just pop back on a week later. Before anyone asks no its not the gas cap. Did some research and I'm thinking it is the secondary air pump code, p2442 I believe?

Took it into the stealership yesterday and my VIN hit for a couple recalls and will be taking it back to get them looked at. One of which, I chuckled about, was for the air pump and faulty valves. I believe this will be the culprit. Anyone else have this experience with their rigs or the recall?? Heard 2012's was a troubled year.

Also getting my frame looked at and might get a coat of their corrosion resistance spray so that would be nice!

    Happy Thursday everyone!

Yes the SAI on the 2012s were known to be problematic with the v6 trucks. That was the first year they added SAI to the 4.0. Dealer should take care of things for you, but if they don't, don't waste any money there. With HPtuners on here you can get a custom tune and turn off that pump and the associated CELs if you don't want to fool with it anymore. It's for off road use only of course
